yeah, I've heard people saying that. I'm not sure what I'll do when stuff does start coming out. I think I don't want to know too many details, but at the same time I know I'll be curious. I didn't have convenient internet access back when the prequels were being made, so I knew very little in advance about any of those.

Yeah, I signed up for NSA too. Actually, I hardly ever go into the Ep VII forum now, even just to lurk, so I don't know if I will start going there more often as we get closer to the release date. I wonder, though, if some spoiler-type details will inevitably leak into other forums and threads (like the SWC, where I spent most of my JCF time anyway).

Edit: were you "spoiled" much for the prequels, DarthRelaxus? and, if so, do you think it negatively affected your viewing experience when you first saw them?

Same question for you, then, Bardan_Jusik.. .how spoiled were you for the prequels and do you feel it detracted in any way from your 1st viewing of any of them? I guess I'm trying to decide if I want to give in to what I know will be my increasing desire for spoiler info...since I've never been really spoiled in the past, I'm thinking maybe I might still enjoy the films just as much?

 

For Episode I. I honestly don't remember how spoiled I was. I knew something of Episode II before it came out, but not the sad stuff like Jango dying.

For Episode III I was completely spoiled as I had read the novel before the movie came out. I found it actually enhanced my enjoyment of the movie. That said, if someone doesn't want spoilers, I will always respect that wish.

 

I read the novels the day they were released. I also spent a lot of time at starwars.com.

 

Hmmm...I'm on the fence for now, I guess. I had just read some folks who signed up for the NSA forum saying they had been too spoiled for the prequels and in retrospect wished they hadn't been. My husband doesn't even like to see trailers in advance of seeing most movies he's really excited about and won't read any reviews, but I'm not near that extreme. And sometimes I think that unless Ep VII is just really bad in some way, there's pretty much nothing that could take away from my response to it!

 

There is nothing wrong with going spoiler free. I just like to know what I am getting into before I go and spend money.
