I'm watching Flyers/Islanders. NYI has a really impressive team. Finally.
Isles are much better but they won't be Cup contenders this year. I can see them winning a playoff series this year though. Only because they're in the East.
They took it to Pittsburgh last season in that series. Baby steps, but I'd wager they could potentially see the Finals by next season. Their power play is ferocious.
I wasn't impressed by either team in that series. NYI needs a lot of improvement to their D to get past Wings and Bs.
No. I'm watching the box score.
My brother is watching SJS and the Habs.
The first period just ended but if you want to listen: http://wgnradio.com/listen/
no prob, Bob
sports? what are these sports?
Too funny...I happen to check the local listings tonight..."Mirror Mirror" starts in 3 minutes!
Hockey is no mere sport. It is The Sport.
I played field hockey once.
Well that's something.
I skated for a long time, played scrimmages as a goalie occasionally, played road hockey often, and played field hockey in 8th grade and some of high school.
I was never tough enough for real hockey
I was tough enough but my body wasn't. Among my very long list of jobs: I was a professional hockey player for 10 days. Played in 2 games and scored a goal and a shootout goal.
I was always mad that women's rules were so against any kind of bodily contact. I wanted to tackle girls and hit them with my FH Stick so bad sometimes..
Rules don't have to be followed
In the NHL?
nope, AHL. I don't think the nhl had shootouts then
AHL then? Either way that's 10 more days than I have as a professional player.
That is awesome!!!!
...well, that was fun! brought back a lot of childhood memories of watching ST with my sister. plus, I dig Spock with a beard!
Kirk: "In every revolution, there's one man with a vision!"
Spock: "I shall consider it, Captain."
I like your latest av,
@Frank T. ...who/what is that creature on the left?
It was fun. I wasn't built for the big leagues. I was a small guy but I didn't play like small guys. I didn't have the skill level of a Kane or St. Louis. I was a good, gritty two-way center but I had a body that was too easily broken. Lots of broken bones and sprains. If it wasn't for music I would've gone to a catholic high school and a hockey university(I met coaches from Boston and Notre Dame and practiced with Maryland team when I was 13)and maybe had a career. I was lucky to get the chance I did get. My neighbor was on the team and got me a tryout.
I don't know. All I see is !.
