Club Mission Clarification

Greetings all:

It has come to my attention that some members of this club have forgotten or are not aware of the purpose/mission of the Idaho Falls Star Wars Alliance.

This is a "general purpose" Star Wars fanclub. We are here together because we all share a love for Star Wars, and that has brought us together as friends. Yes, we try to diversify the activities that the club is involved in, from collecting to costuming, comics to gaming, and more. I realize that there has been quite the emphasis on costuming lately, but that is NOT the sole purpose or direction of this club.

I refer you all to the club by-laws, which were voted on and ratified -- in their latest revision -- by club members over 1 year ago. These by-laws spell out the purpose and direction of the club.

Please remember, Star Wars brought us together, but it's not the only thing we can discuss.

Personally, I am a member of the Rebel Legion and will soon (hopefully) be a member of the 501st. The Alpine Garrison in SLC is technically 501st. There's nothing that says you can't be a member of more than one group.

Please try to keep your posts friendly. Nothing will break up this club faster than alienating members by criticizing them for their personal tastes in film, television, print, activities etc. In addition, please refrain from profanity, keep this a family-friendly forum.
