Collectormania

Collectormania is a few weeks away, with it being Friday 28th to Monday 31st May 2010! Admission is free, so there's no need to worry about being able to afford entry! Use this thread to say if you're going and organise meeting points and so on. Because I can't go and I've never been before, it would be best if all questions were directed to SithLordDarthRichie who will actually know what he's talking about.

Oh, and don't forget, we need three or more people for an official meet and photos to prove it.

 

As some of you who attended last year's event may know, the venue in Milton Keynes has been changed to the MK Dons stadium.

Last year transportation to the event was meant to be free and provided by the organisers. Certainly getting back this was the case but getting to the event some of us had to pay for a regular bus.
I hope the system will be sorted out this time around, but just in case bring transport money and/or consider taking a car if you drive.

There is a good guest list this year including various people from Star Trek Voyager, Red Dwarf and a whole heap of Star Wars guests.
There will also be a 30th Anniversary Star Wars celebration event on.

 

Definitely coming this year! What day will the most people be going? Also just out of interest, how long does it take from the train station to the stadium?

 

I'm going on the Saturday.

I'm not sure exactly how long it will take on the bus, about 20mins I think. It took longer last year because the exact locations of the bus stops for the free bus were not clear so some of us ended up walking to the Centre and then trying to get a bus up there.

Still, hopefully it will be organised better this year. Looks to be a good event so far.

 

Sorry, can't go. Too far away. But I am interested in going to THIS, especially seeing that Gary Kurtz is booked to attand there as well.

 

I saw Gary Kurtz at Collectormania London last year. He's a nice guy, although he has no love for the Prequels.

There will of course be a meet scheduled for LFCC when it is closer to the time.

 

No love for the PT? Sounds just like my kind of guy! Although I thought he wouldn't. Why do you think I want to meet him? In my opinion he's more "Mr. Star Wars" than Lucas! Lucas lost the Force decades ago.

It was a very good event. Nice to catch up with folks I'd not seen for a long time. We got a number of photos with celebs as well as costumed folk. Some very good costumes this year.

My Transformers hoodie was commented on a few times, as was rebeljediknight_88's T-shirt
