I thought that was a good idea that I created this area where we could talk about awesome finds and talk trading and selling.

I'm a collector that has just moved in from Louisville, KY. I was excited to find a place near my office called Third Planet. Prices are a little high, but they have a pretty good selection, and some good deals can be found. Let me know if you want more info.

    Cheers!

I go to Third Planet occassionally, mostly when bored or looking for something specific.

I rarely actually buy anything there. It's quite simply outrageous.

Is there somewhere else you can recommend for vintage stuff?

    Thanks!

I stopped in at Nan's Comics & Collectibles today. They seem to be pretty cool, but Third Planet has a bigger selection.

    Impressive...most impressive.

Did you say you have a boy? My boy would tear that stuff up in a hurry. It's too inviting.

Your collection takes quite a bit of real estate. I hope you have a place sufficiently picked out at your new home!

Thanks! When we begin looking for a new home, I will certainly keep it in mind. Right now, it's taking up quite a bit of room in a storage shed. Yes, I do have a three year old son. He knows what he can play with and what he can't. He actually does pretty well as long as I make sure he doesn't get his hands on any of the accessories for the loose figures. He prefers R2-D2 and Darth Vader stuff. I have one of the talking Vader masks that he likes to wear. He is pretty funny! Sometimes he will sit at the TV and play his Blues Clues video game with the Darth Vader mask on.

Well, it's been difficult, but my husband and I have decided to do something I never thought I would do and sell our collection. Collecting has always been such a huge part of our lives, and we enjoy it so much. But, we have NO room for all this stuff. And as long as we keep it, we'll just keep collecting more and more, spending more and more money when we don't even have the space for it. :(

So, I wanted to ask if anyone has any suggestions on how to go about selling the collection. I know I can sell it on eBay, but are there better places/outlets to go?

Wow, that is a very grown-up decision to make. If you wanted to list what you are selling and the prices, my husband and I might want a few of the figures.

Queenie Amidala, I'm interested as well as to see what SW stuff you have for sell.

Also, for those who might want it, the Target store @ Memorial City mall has the voice changer Darth Vader helmet for $6.98 (clearance), they had a couple left the other day.

I'm sorry to see you leaving the hobby behind, but I completely understand and applaud you for making such a difficult decision. I hope you are able to let us know what you will be selling. Some of the collectors here may be able to help you thin out the collection. [face_thinking]

    Queenie

I'm also interested in seeing your list.. especially anything Imperial and any vehicles you may have.

The first thing you'll want to do is put together a detailed spreadsheet of what you have, what condition, etc. Consult the Wedge Engine on rebelscum.com for some info on that. That list will be essential for selling your stuff.

You'll get the most money if you eBay things individually, but that is a LOT of work and time to go through. PM me and I'll get you in touch with a guy who does that for a living- he bought a lot of my collection recently and I got a great deal (traded him my collection for cash and FX sabers!)

Here are a few resources for doing pricing research:

    www.starwarsguide.net
    www.brianstoys.com
    www.rebelscum.com's "wedge engine"

Good luck to you! Hopefully you'll be able to put a list up for us soon.

A report on the Wal-Mart at North I-45 and West Rd:

Lots of the new Titanium minis, including the blue A-wing, Republic Cruiser, and some repackages of the first round.

Han Solo/Chewie Millenium Falcon Transformers 2-pack, about 8 of them on the shelf at 8:30pm

Also, the three new large Unleashed series, Han in Stormtrooper outfit, Chewbacca, and Shocktrooper. There were lots of each and when I got to the check out stand, it rang up at $5.00. I should have gone back and grabbed more, but I was in a hurry. Dunno how long it will be before someone catches that mistake, but if you're over in the area tonight, it may be worth checking on.

    Happy hunting!

Cool! Thanks for the heads up. I just picked up 3 more VTSC Scout Troopers at the Alvin Wal-Mart. That was all the Scout Troopers they had, but they were overflowing with the rest of the VTSC figures if anyone still needs one for their George Trooper.

They also had a ton of the new unleashed and the MF Transformer set. I should go scan some of 'em to see what they ring up as. [face_thinking]

We are getting a list together as we speak so we can post it here when we are through.

Thanks for all the responses! :)

Stopped by the WalMart in Crosby a few days ago, hoping to find a Scout Trooper, when what do I find not one, but two Republic Commandos! Talk about a lucky day. They had a fair assortment of other characters as well, but none of the special G Lucas promotion figures.

I pretty much wrapped up making a list of the figures I have last night. So, if anyone wants to see that, let me know, and I'll post it here.

I went crazy a couple of years ago and took basically all of them out of their packages. So, I have about 140 or so, but they are loose. They have all their weapons and accessories (except a only a couple), and were not played with.

    Anyway, let me know.
