As some of the old timers around here know, I'm not a Star Wars collector. I just pick up a few things that I think are cool. However, I have recently spotted a semi-rare item that I have to have. Unfortunatly, I don't have the slightest I idea where to begin looking.

At Celebration II they had a set of badges/lanyards in a tin lunchbox. It included all the badges for show including vendor, retailer, etc. I debated buying it at the show and didn't. It is the one SW item I regret not picking up when I had the chance.

I have checked ebay (the obvious place to look), with no luck. I now hope to call on my fellow SW fanatics to help me out. Is there anyplace else I should check? Have you run into these on the net anywhere?

I appreciate the help. I read that they are going to have a similar set of CIII badges next month and I am hoping to get the CII set so I will have the badges of both show that I have attended. Thank you again.

This would be my course of action:

    - keep checking ebay
    - log on to starwarsshop.com and send an e-mail asking if any of the old badges/sets are available through them (if they are not on the site already) or who they might recommend.
    - do the same thing...checking with Wizards of the Coast(they put C2 on, right?), Paizo Publishing(old fan club), Gen-Con, IDG entertainment (new fan club).

    Good Luck!

Yeah the V-wing starfighter from ROTS. This fighter should not be confused with the V-wing carrier-airspeeder used by the New Republic. The V-wing starfighter can be seen in the latest ROTS trailer. Four of these fighters are escorting a Theta class Republican shuttle. Also a better picture can be found at Milleniumfalcon.com under the thread about the cross-section book. The V-wing is a sporty little fighter that looks like the little sister to the Delta-7 'Aethersprite' starfighter seen in Episode 2. The V-wing is piloted by a single clone pilot. So the number of fighter craft used by Galactic Republic thus far in the Clone War follows...

    1. Delta-7 'Aethersprite' starfighter
    2. V-19 'Torrent' class starfighter (animated CW
    series)
    3. Eta-2 'Actis' starfighters
    4. V-wing starfighters
    5. ARC-170 starfighters

V-wings are more numerous than any of the other fighters listed. They are not capable of jumping to hyperspace on their own. The later TIE fighter will replace the V-wing. Just as the Y-wing will replace the ARC-170.

These are some of my ideas for the SIG Collecting meeting.

I like the idea of show and tell.

Start off with Star Wars then move onto other lines.

Anyone up for trading at the meeting? I figure we could bring anything from fastfood and cereal toys to figures and accessories. One mans junk another mans treasure.

Then we could end the meeting with a toy hunt to the local stores.

    What you think?

    Good ideas,

I had approached Scott with the whole idea of branching into other toy lines and he was right in saying that we should concentrate on Star Wars at first. I know G1Prowl is a huge Transformers collector as I collect many different genre's of action figures myself.

I think the meetings should be held at someone's home and not at Comic Quest. Especially if the meetings will be on a sunday, Comic Quest will close at 6pm (I think). Plus there is the whole "loss prevention" issue that Comic Quest will be sure to address (rightfully so) and that may result in them wanting to sticker what we bring in and for the MOMC that wouldn't go over too well. Plus if they wanted to do an inventory system where we would check in what we have then trading would be difficult.

There is so much we can do in a Collectors Club, the possibilities are endless.

I woke up this past Sunday (TRU Holo Yoda Sale) at 9:50am with only 10 min left till TRU was to open and when I arrived expecting to find pandamonium and some stupid flea market scalpers who thought that at 9.99 a piece he could make a sweet deal, I actually found 3 people at 10:30 and a scalper flea market dude with his co-horts and he had (I am very certain of this) a full case(12)of holo Yodas as they were leaving.

I swear I have this uncanny ability to sense a scalper in my presence. I am serious; it?s like in the movie Highlander when 2 immortals are in close proximity to each other, they instinctively know the other is an immortal. I was even kicked out of a toy store cause I took off in a dead run towards a scalper with a toy ninja sword screaming at the top of my lungs "there can be only one!!!!"

But anyways, I bought 60.00 worth of Star Wars Lego's which in turned got me 2 Holo Yodas and 4 free Lego mini sets of the Imperial Shuttle, Star Destroyer, Mauls Interceptor, and another shuttle.

Not too shabby, the Lego?s I bought to get me all the free stuff was the Lego ARC-170, Vader transformation set, and the AT-RT walker.

Yeah, good ideas! I particularly like:

    - show and tell
    - themed meetings (Master replicas, Action figures, misc., vintage, media, etc.)
    - trading
    - hunting
    - general social/geek-out time
    - etc.

I think it should be at someone's house also, it's like we have said, just about any retail store will frown on hosting a collector's club. They just won't want the hassle of it.

Did someone say Transformers?! Hence the name ...

Generation One Prowl (Autobot Police car) :)

Ah yes, toy scalpers. Back in the day I was selling off part of my collection, at toy shows, to get married. What's worse than bumping into scalpers in the toy stores? Having a table next to one at a toy show. Scum and Villainy!

Yes, I think having the collecting meeting at someone's house would be the best idea as well to avoid all the problems listed above.

Oh yeah, Please post if you see any of the new Clone troopers. (33, 34, 38, 41, or 49)

Thanks for the info Lord Skywalker!

Me and Mr. SD actually showed up at the same time! lol!

    I scored a Clone Commander!

Speaking of the figures. I have to say that this line (ROTS) has some of the best sculpts, articulation, and action features of any Star Wars assortment. I bought very few of the AOTC figures but have already picked up about a dozen of these. Even the blister package is extra cool. You can open your figure with very little damage to the card. If you haven't gang, bust these toys out and play with em!

Hello, I am looking for some suggestions from some local Starwars fans or really just a yes or no answer.
First off, I am not really internet friendly, but I have been coming to tfn alot lately for news, ext. I had no idea there was local Eville fan section. This is totally cool beans.
On to my question; I am not really that big of a SW collector nor am I a insane store box/skid thrasher looking to take all the "rare" finds and put them on ebay. Just a fan that has really taken a liking to the 12" figures the last couple of years. I have them all on top of my desk:) out of the box of course. Anyway, hasbro says 12" Shaak ti and Barriss Offee was realsed on the 18th. has anyone seen them while browsing rots stuff lately? Thanks.

1st of all let me welcome you to the boards. We have a very special, talented and diverse Fan Force and I am sure you will have lots of fun with the group.

The Aayla Secura and Barris Offee are the newset 12" figures and somewhat sadly the last ones. The Unleashed is replacing that line due to poor sales, and frankly poor everything. I am looking for them as well and if I come across extras I will pick them up for you if you are interested. I will do that at cost as I do with all my other fellow collectors.

    Welcome mktiger!

Look around and make yourself at home. Have fun and post or private message with any questions.

In case you haven't seen them yet here are the terms of service.

Look around specifically on the Evansville board for meeting times, etc.

May's General meeting will be held at Mrs_Self_Destrukt's mom's house...and we will be starting early that day since it is a movie marathon day. Just to clarify that.

    Again, Welcome!

Thanks for the warm welcome, Lady and gents. I surely would like to stick around and chat about starwars stuff.
As for your answers, thanks for the link, Mrs_Self_Destrukt, and Mr_Self_Destrukt, I have heard too that they will be canceling the 12" line of figures. Is that a rumor or is it offical? And thanks for the offer to get me extras, but my job has me running all over town and I have been looking almost daily to see if they are there,ie target walmart trs. I could do the same thing for you though and pick up a extra one of each.

Again, thanks for the welcome, E'ville Jedi!
