OOC: Happy belated B-Day, Marna! Did you do anything exciting?

IC:

"What are you talking about?" asked Rik. He looked at Jo-Ni's eyes and was confused, "Yeah. That is weird.. I don't know. Maybe it's something hereditary? Or it may be that your eyes can change color?"

Rik knew he didn't sound confident.

 

IC:
The first course was brought out. It was a perfectly prepared correlian salad, with all the meat and vegitables the men could get out of the hold. It was a wild concoction of lettuce's, all rich and green, and other vegtables, along with some chopped meats that were the best they could gather.

Following the salad came a bottle of Correlian Wine, well aged, from the captians personal stash, and a nerf Steak, prepared with a few spices although not as many as the cooks would have liked, there was a limit to their supplies. The captian tried to make small talk about the empire at large and the implications of the mineral deposit down on the surface.

Following the nerf Steak was the desert. t was something one of the junor Cooks had come up with called "Ice Cream" Basicly frozen mik but mixed with fruits and jucies from those fruits. It was very good and a nice change of pace from the hot foods during the main dinner. After the desert the room emptied and the captian and the Admiral sat back, content with their full bellies, while the captian awaited the Admirals true reason for his vist.

OOC: Thank you for the 'cake', DJ. And thanks for the warning. The only thing really exciting I did was attended graduation of a nephew who just finished his courses at BYU. But today, I went out to eat with my family, and wore a sombrero while the waiters sang their version of 'Happy birthday to you'. It was fun.

IC: "No. No, my eyes are gold. They've always been gold, not red. Their eyes are red. They told me I was joining them. Then I turned into one." Jo-Ni said, pacing.

"I can't turn into one. That's not possible."

She slowly lowered herself to the floor and sat, thinking aloud.

"But why did my eyes change? Why did they hurt in the light? Am I just not used to the light here? No. My eyes would have hurt before this morning. Last night, I saw a fish." she looked at Rik.

"Last night, I saw a fish. It was dark and I shouldn't have been able to see it. I woke up and went down to the stream, and saw a fish. It was too dark. I am changing, somehow."

Jo-Ni stood again.

"I need to go. I have to find out. I need to know if I DID hear something about the defenses."

 

The Admiral sat quietly for a moment, enjoying the food. "As you know weve been cutting down the fleet due to the need of resources. Hopefully youve already gotten the message that your ship will be spared from this decomission. I also have plans on modifying one of the corvetts into a carrier, if you have any engineers with ideas please send them our way. After the ships are decomissioned and their crews reassigned or sent to the survace for other jobs, we shall be exploring the rest of the system, setting up probes and communication devices. I chose to keep your ship intact and under your command because you are one of my more experienced commanders, and I do not expect failur from you."

 

Rik was so confused he didn't say a thing as he watched Jo-Ni get ready to leave.

As she neared the door he said, "Hey, look. If anything comes up or if you need help with whatever, feel free to come and talk to me. I'm not really sure what's going on but I'll gladly offer a hand if you need one."

 

Of course admiral. You know you and i have the same sensabilitys in that way, the lack of tolerance for failure. Indeed i thank you for spareing my ship and i will amke good use of the crew and supplies that you send my way. I will have my techs look at the corvette and send any ideas over right away.

The captian and the admiral stood, done with the meal, and began to walk slowly back twords the hanger. The captian talking details of the scouting and exploring of the system and environs while the admiral mostly just nodded his head, thinking that the best way to get this done was to leave it to his subordinates. They reached the admiral'ss shuttle and the honor Guard escorted him al the way on. The correct parting plesantries were said and the correct salute givin as the admirals shuttle left the bay, sleek and graceful in it flight.

OOC: If you didn't want the admiral off the ship ignore everythng after the first paragraph.

 

"Thank you, Rik." Jo-Ni said as she began to leave.

She got to the door, and when she opened it, the light was bright, making her eyes hurt. She barely had time to react before it was over and she could see through the glare of the sun. She didn't know that her pupils were tiny slits like a cat's.

She noticed that among the conversations of the many beings going about their buisness, she heard little sounds. The stream not far away, the rustling of leaves and grasses in the wind, she even thought she heard the movements of an insect.

Jo-Ni knew who she needed to talk to. She had to know if she had heard what she though she had heard earlier. She asked someone where she could find him, though it made her sick to think she was actually going to the man voluntarily. But, she needed to know. If she did hear right, then she was changing somehow.

She had to talk to Ballin.

 

Leaning back in his chair on the shuttle he watched the return ship, talking to himself how he would have to have his cook get the recipeies of the meal he just ate.

 

The shyip slowly went back to normal status. The dining hall was disassembled and all the supplies either thrown out or put back in storage. Most of the crew was busy still testing the new power router but it seemed to hold up just fine. they wer eon their last round of tests when the captian walked in.

"Ok men, we have order's directly from the admiral. It seems that he wants the Corellian Corvette that we have with us converted into a fighter carrier. I want everybody working on this problem. I want progress reports daily on my desk and sent to the desk of the admiral. Is that clear?"

"Yes Sir!" they siad in unison, hapopy to be trying something different. Meanwhiloe the cpatian went back to the bay to serch and see if they had any probe droids in storage. Sure enough they did and the cpatian called up a couple of techs to get the things in working order. The captian went back to his quarters to rest after the rather tireing meal with the Admiral.

 

While Jo-Ni walked to where she knew Ballin was, a drunken man approached her.

"Hey, sweetie! I wondered where you was." he said.

"Not him again." she thought as she ignored him.

As she tried to get around him, he rushed up to her and grabbed her arm.

"Let me go!" she shouted.

"You don't have your little stich with you this time, cutie." he said, begining to drag her off.

Without thinking, Jo-Ni twisted out of his grip. He swung both arms out to get her again, and she ducked under them. She got behind him and kicked his tooshie, making him fall flat on his face.

Behind her, a soft noise warned her of another man behind her. The second man had pulled a blaster and was preparing to shoot her. He pulled the trigger, his aim dead on, but Jo-Ni lept into the air, the blast bolt, luckily on stun, hit the drunk's behind.

She ran away from the men as the blaster man checked on his buddy.

"Serves you right." Jo-Ni thought as she continued to meet with Ballin.

 

Rik watched Jo-Ni leave and when she had left the room, he took a seat. The last 3 hours had been some of the strangest times he'd ever seen.

After a moment he got up and went inside his personal office to make a report of what had just happened with the woman named Jo-Ni Shawa.

 

OOC:what did I miss?

 

OOC: Remember the cat Ballin shot? Jo-Ni is changing into one, to a point. Her sences are improving, and her agility.
And, she's going to speak with Ballin. She heard what he said about the defenses, and she wants to make sure she really heard it.

IC: Jo-Ni finally made it to where Ballin was. She walked up to him.

"I know you don't like me, and sure as the Emperor is ugly, I don't like you. I wouldn't be here except I need to ask you something. A while back, I thought I heard you say something about the defenses. Did you?" she said rudely

 

"Yes I said something about defense, but that was before some one lost the equipment." Ballin's face reflected his anger and lack of sleep
"Now what do you want with that information?"

Description: Ezarolia has turqoise skin and black eyes. She is about 5'7, and 112 lbs. She usually wears a faded yellow dress.

Background: Ezarolia was raised by her mother on Tatooine. Her father never knew about her, as she was conceived during a time of crisis.
She married Firrel Ma'dero when she was eighteen, and moved away from Mos Eisley with him. He was killed by Tuskens a year ago, and after she left Tatooine with her baby, Kalissa.
She now lives deep in a forest, and has noticed several strange people around.

IC:
"I'm not going to really do anything with it. I had to know if I really heard it. I was in the Infirmary when I heard it." Jo-Ni told him. She then thought aloud.

"I really am changing. My eyes, my hearing. Even smells are stronger today then they were before the cat."

OOC: A couple of posts ago, I briefly posted what was going on with me and two I was going to or had been interacting with. Basically, each player is doing their own thing.

 

"Well you do look like hell" he laughs "But I think that it's all in your head." Ballin said in a cold voice full of mockery

 

"Excuse me?!" she said to Ballin, "You may think it's in my head, but how do you explain me hearing it clear from the Infirmary? I don't know how, but that cat did something to me. I'll have you know..."

Jo-Ni caught herself.

Why do I need to explain myself to HIM? she thought.

"I don't know why I'm even bothering with you."

Jo-Ni turned to leave.

"You must be the first person to see a doctor then feel differant afterwards..." Ballin called to her as she left


OOC:Ballin is so mean

 

Jo-Ni stormed out of there, angry at the guy. She wished she hadn't had to ask him, but she knew she was NOT imagining things.

That man is so rude! she thought as she walked. He's just plain mean. I bet he doesn't have a kind bone in his body. Probably doesn't know the meaning of the word 'nice'.

As Jo-Ni walked, she didn't care where she was going. As long as she was getting away from him.

Before she knew it, she was deep in the woods.

 

Ezarolia settled Kalissa into a basket and went for a walk. She picked a few flowers that grew at the edges of the path she was using. She looked up into the trees and sighed. This forest was beautiful. She enjoyed living here, but the solitude was a little depressing.

As she rounded a bend she saw a woman storming through the woods, obviously angry. Ezarolia wondered where this woman had come from, and why she was in this part of the forest.

She began cautiously nearing the mysterious woman, holding Kalissa close to her.

As Jo-Ni walked through the forest, she thought she heard something. She froze in her tracks and listened closely and looked around. Then, she saw the twi'lek.

"Who are you?" she half-demanded of her, ready to attack, if needs be. Then, she saw the child and relaxed a bit, knowing that nobody would attack while holding a baby.

Ezarolia stepped timidly forward. She spoke in Basic with a heavy accent.

"I am Ezarolia Ma'dero. Who are you? And why are in this area of the forest?"
