I'm American so really it's color for me, but I don't agree. The language is English, and I think we should leave it the English spelling as colour. So I usually write colour.

No, if it was color it would sound like co-law. The phonetic spelling of colour is "culler", so if you want to butcher the word, use that one

 

I always use "color", but I have no problem whatsoever with the alternate spelling.
