Abq Colorado/New Mexico Activity - Camping Trip!

Would anyone else be interested in doing something with the Colorado groups?

Maybe a weekend camping trip? Or something of the like?

and something unoffical

 

If we can generate enough interest between both groups, this could be a great opportunity to get together.

 

I would be up for a camping trip!!We could find a place in the middle.I am guessing somewhere around the border,the trinidad/raton area.

There is a state park with a lake 3 miles west of trinidad.Its called "trinidad lake state park" (kind of a duh name).

There is also the Sugarite Canyon State Park just over the bored in New Nexico.

Both seem to have the same stuff to do.Camping,fishing,hiking and looking at the putry stuff all around.

That sounds like a good area to me. That is almost exactly half way between the 2 cities and even closer for you guys.

The thing would be time to go as well...

Summer may be best.

Well hopefully my life will straighten out by the time this takes place. I would love to go.

For me it will be a matter of just how much other traveling I do this summer... If I make both trips, then camping will be out. It also depends on if I can get the camper is shape... Cause this one is not sleeping on no ground again

I wish I has a camper but alas I will be one to sleep on the ground. Well, with several sleeping pads under me of course.

for a weekend yes... for more then a week no. I wonder how well my futon travels.

 

I hope there are bears! I like Raccoons too.....anyone ever see that Disney film "Old Yeller"?

I hate raccoons... I spent a week this summer chasing them out of my camp, and out a friends tent. ugh... I swear they were awful. I prefer bears... just don't keep food in your tent.

So what month is good: June, July, August?

June is probably my best month.

then that doesn't work...

July is the Comicon, so unless we did it like the weekend before it might be hard. I know we have a few people going to that.

I dont think the x-wing would get in the way too much.itll only be 1 week end.all the work is going to be done before C3,right?I think june would prolly be best,In may we have the ROTS premeir,finals (for the college folks) and I have a wedding I have to be in.But Ill do my best to go with the flow of things.I am but a leaf blown by the force.

 

Well, I think there might be this movie coming out in May...

 

we may just have to have each group at their next meeting pick dates in the summer and then see which ones match up and pick that way.

There is a movie in May? I thought Harry Potter came out in December or something like that?

 

Shoot, I'll be hitting the theater probably every weekend after the release for at least a month. So ... hmmm. August might be too hot. And we've got Bubonicon. What about September? Labor Day thereabouts?
