The Rock is the firmest movie ever made. Seriously, there's nothing wrong with it and it's got jets and guns! JETS AND GUNS! And an inspirational soundtrack!

THE ROCK was ok. The best movie ever made was "The Seven Samurai"!!

Movies by supposed "Genius" level film makers are ridiculing the intended purpose for the sake of "big bucks"!!!

Many of the more literate will know of my deep seated passion for the writing of Frank Herbert, specifically his acclaimed visionary masterpiece, the Dune Saga.

I recently watched Lynch's movie interpretation of Dune...and was appalled!

It edited most of the story line out, mis-portrayed the characters, missed all of the in depth philosophy and the myriad of thematic explorations, and reduced it to some pathetic b-grade action flick!

It's got me disgusted, and quite frankly, bloody confused!

 

That's it PoT. Of the now top 10 money earners of all time. How many of these films are "good, well made, superbly directed etc!".
Answer: Very few.

Arthouse and small budget movies are usually much better to watch and are not tainted by the need to make a big buck.

How many modern day actors are good at acting?
Answer: Not many!!!!

 

Ben Affleck sure as hell can't act. Ioan Gruffudd, on the other hand, can.

Bowling for Columbine = probably had a very limited budget but was one of teh best movies ever. It was, how do you put it?, firm.

Zarrin - I completely agree with you. Bowling for Columbine is one of the best movies ever made IMHO, and I really doubt it made a lot of money. In Melbourne, it's playing in 2 cinemas! Disgracefull!

Ben Afflec too, is a horrible actor and a horrible person too. As much as I love the Kevin Smith movies, I can't stand him.
