I'm not sure if you're serious or not BYOB, but I will say there is a 99% that no one will be carded. You only need to be 18 at the dogtrack (not 21 like at the casinos), so everyone will be OK unless they look really, really, young. Even if you are underage, you can still get in as long as you are with someone 18 or older, and that person would have to make the bets....

You will most likely be carded though if you drink alcohol at the track...

Oh, you'd be surprised how we run things at the dogtrack. You'd think that since it's this big gambling place, that they would follow rules and regulations like that, wouldn't you??? :).

I'm still gonna say that unless you look young, no one will card you. Most of the employees hate their jobs and don't really care about anything anyways, so half of them would probably serve you anyways....

But i suppose it's better to be safe than sorry...

The only reason I brought it up was because of the BS names. In other words, are they going to require proof that our names are on the list?

Considering that they give these things away free (really, they do - if anyone else wants to sign up for one, just fill out a sheet and give it to me), i wouldn't think so. But just incase, I will tell the people that take the food tickets (they are all my friends) to let anyone go that is part of this particular group.

Should be easy enough to pick most of you out, since it was mentioned you might be wearing the T-shirts...

Besides, the BS names are only extras if anyone else wants to come along. You have anyone in mind you want to bring extra?

i talked to the person that assigns seats and told them about the group. assuming they don't forget, or lose the note i game him, you guys will have great seats.

The group will be seated in about the middle of the track, on the level right along the windows. They are the best seats (in my opinion, anyways). Just an FYI.

The tickets have arrived, and I have PMed everyone who had signed up for them. There are 3 extra tickets if anyone else is interested or wants to bring a friend. Just let me know!

I'll post about where all of us are meeting on the day of sometime in the next few days. :)

Catie, Matt...I still need your home addresses so I can mail the tickets to you. Please PM me no later than Wed, Sept 25. If you don't see this post until after that date, please PM me your home phone number so I can make arrangements to get tickets to you.

I will see you all on Tuesday evening... I have to work a private banquet, but I make it around sometime during the night.

BTW - I will be the only guy in the place wearing a tuxedo shirt. Everyone else will have green or red polo shirts. (Since i work the private banquets, I get to stand out like a dork!)

    Hey guys--

I "misplaced" my license this weekend; I have no flippin' idea where it is. Am I going to have a problem getting into the track without one?

I don't think so. You look like you're over 18, and I don't know how picky they are at the bar (if you're drinking more than soda). Besides, I've never seen them ID anyone for getting into the track anyway. I wouldn't worry about it.

It's almost here! After you park at Dairyland, enter the building in the Clubhouse entrance (doors on the left). The Clubhouse is all the way upstairs. There will be a Party with the Puppies stand where you can check to see where our group of tables are, or just look for me. I'll try to hang out in a visible area to get everyone to our area. :) Don't worry about the possible rain that I've heard forcast. They still run the races rain or shine. Looking forward to seeing everyone!

My private party kept me busier than I thought it would, so I didn't get a chance to come down. I tried looking at the seats when I had a little bit of time, but didn't see any of the "Milwookiee" shirts. How many people showed up???

We were wondering what happened to you. :)

Five of us made it, and Tom and Dawn wore their Milwookiee shirts. Unfortunately, I came directly from work so I was unable to change.

So the group was BYOB_Kenobi, Auraveda, Com_Link_Jammin, Idaara and spouse. :)

I think a good time was had by all (if I'm wrong, someone let me know :) ).

FYI, guys, Joan was unable to make it as both of her kids got sick. I didn't hear anything from Jason or Catie, but I'm pretty sure we knew already why they didn't make it.

There were 5 of us there. Tello999, we were starting to doubt that you existed. :p

Anyway it was a good time and an interesting experience since I'd never seen a greyhound race before.

Special thanks to Idaara for organizing the whole thing and for baking a birthday cake for me! Yummy!

Super special thanks to BYOB for the Erik Estrada bobble head and all the other goodies.

    I had a lovely 72nd birthday. :p

Yes all, I'm very sorry I didn't make it. But there was I childhood dream I had to fulfill. It was wonderful. But I'm sure I would have been a blast with you all, too. I've never seen dog racing live either, and was looking forward to it. Maybe next time.

Is the doll a "Ponch" doll from CHiPs? Why on earth did they make one of those?

Why yes it is a Ponch doll, complete with cop shades, skin tight pants, sparkly white smile, and wavy feathery 70s hairdo.

I don't have any great love of the series "CHiPs", Tom just bought it because it's extremely silly. I giggled for quite a while when I opened it. I giggle now when I look at it sitting on my desk here at work.

    "...cop shades..."

    Aviator sunglasses.

Don't listen to her. She secretly lusts for the embrace of Erik Estrada and swoons whenever Marco from Sealab 2021 appears on screen. [face_rolleyes]

Yes, Christine it was a great time and thanks again for the invite. I hope Steve is doing those jumping jacks that Tom suggested for his swollen ankle. I enjoyed my beginners luck. I got 4 1/2 hrs. sleep, long day today but well worth it for the experience.

Yeah... Let's not dwell on that jumping jacks comment too much.

Aw, come on. That was funny. :)

Steve's ankle is a nice shade of royal purple in spots and swollen to about the size of a grapefruit. He's still hobbling nicely on it and claims he doesn't need to see a doctor (that remains to be seen).

He wanted me to tell everyone that he had a great time and that it was nice to finally meet some of the people I've been babbling about for the last several months. :)
