To be fair, it's the strength of the idea that makes the original Terminator good...T2 (IMO anyway) is superior in just about every way.

I don't care about Terminator. I just want Sarah Connor Chronicles to be finished.

The Terminator had Michael Biehn, an evil Arnold, and a hot Linda Hamilton, so my vote goes to the original.

    1) Big hair is not hot :p 2) Terminator 2 also had Michael Biehn, 3) the original concept of the villain was present in it. So long as we're going with list-based debating :p

Deleted scenes and "director's cut" does not count. You are beihnless in t2.

I would rather have seen more future apocalypse stuff than get a reboot.

Yes, I know that. But the idea was still there from the get go and when Cameron wrote the second film, he was going off of his idea.

Alan Taylor (GOT, Thor The Dark World) is in talks to direct the next movie. No new story details yet, only that it's still said to be the first film of a new trilogy, Arnold's level of involvement is not certain yet and that they are aiming for a June 26th, 2015 release date.

If they are rebooting it, why would Arnold be in it?

Yeah, I don't think it's actually a reboot- its just a relaunch, the same way Salvation was supposed to launch a new trilogy. No one in their right mind would intentionally abandon association with Cameron's films.

Don't the rights revert back to Cameron permanently in '18 or '19? If they're going to make a trilogy, they'd better get cracking. In fact, they may need to shoot the 2nd and 3rd ones back-to-back.

There is probably a production clause. If they don't film the two back-to-back, I suspect their hope is to get movie #2 out in '17 and have #3 in production in '18 (thereby beating the deadline) for a '19 releasedate.
