I know it seems like something way in the future, but it will come sneaking up sooner than you think! If you don't want to volunteer, deadline for pre-registration is April 20. After that, the price goes up. Something to think about. Details:

Most of the affordable hotels nearby within walking distance are already sold out.

Did anyone else receive the Comic Con Update in the mail? I think it's not too early, I think it's just right this time.

Yeah, hotel reservations opened up in January, and like I said pre-registration ends on April 20 if you're not volunteering.

Again, it's never too early to plan something. I was thinking of C3 after C2 ended! :)

I'd like to go, and could probably swing the convention price...but the hotel and trip down would gouge me. I haven't been working since January.

I know we'll probably all be volunteering anyway to avoid the long *cough* gen-con like lines...but just in case...here is a pdf file for registration. And yes, the 13th is preview day:

It looks like more people than last year will be attending, but, unfortunately, the hotel rooms that were booked only hold 8 people total. Something to discuss at the next meeting, and to think about...

Tonight, registration begins for the Lucasfilm Star Wars Breakfast. It will be Sat. July 16 at the Marriott from 7-8:30 am. Price is $58.13, and includes a Holographic Leia figure, a star case, a goody bag with items from the Lucasfilm archives, a chance to win additional prizes, the opportunity to meet SW personalities, and of course, breakfast! Registration is open to Star Wars Fan Club Members, who may bring one guest. Seating is limited.

    http://www.starwars.com/community/event/fanclub/news20050531.html

Having gone last year, the goody bag and the figure are pretty much the same value as the ticket price, so if you can get up early enough, I'd recommend going. Besides, the Rebel Legion photo may follow immediately after.

I had planned not to go, but something possessed me yesterday. When I came home from work it was straight to the computer to see if that damn breakfast had sold out, and it wasn't, and I bought a ticket. So, I guess I'm going now. Or at least I'm flying down Saturday morning and eating breakfast..or something!
    ;)
