Thanks for keeping the masses at bay during the group photo op, and thanks for the awesome photos, Matt! I'm so stoked that you got a great shot of Han and Lando high-fiving!!

 

So I guess those lightsaber combat skills I taught you are coming in handy...

 

I'm sick and tired of seeing ten thousand Jack Sparrows at every single convention.

Tom, I hope you didn't spend your one day at Comic-Con actually counting Jack Sparrows!

Honestly, in my opinion Capt. Jack is a hard costume to pull off - not only do you have to look like him, but act like him as well o make it work. The costume itself has many small details, and is still quite a draw for people (heck, people still dress up like Star Trek characters from the 1960's show, and that's just spandex, adn they can still make that look bad!)

What I noticed was how many bad Dark Knight Jokers there were last year and this year too. Everyone seems to make the mistake of putting on too much make-up and making it too perfect, instead of making it look like it was just quickly smeared on. Ledger actually sprayed water on his face to make it look the way it did. They also make the hair bright green, instead of streaking dark or moss green sections on dark hair.

 

Word. Bad Jokers ruined my Halloween. I spent all day working on my makeup only to change my mind last minute because of the overwhelming amount of jokers. In the end, I improvised this:

Actually "the true measure of a fan is knowing that big lizard bounty hunter" is a Trandoshan Bounty Hunter/Slaver named Bossk who has as ship named the "Hound's Tooth" and has a personal vendetta with Chewbacca... Not bad though...

Yeah, I think I told you earlier I got a badge, but I'm pissed it does not include preview night. That's one of my favorite nights I don't know 100% for sure if I'm going to the con though. We have to see when CIV is. I can always get a refund on my badge. And I seem to have lost my room mates this year (Joan and Richard didn't buy passes in time... so I guess they are not going). So I just have to see if this can all pull together or not. Driving in from a hotel far away just isn't what I want to do.

 

Whoa... they didn't get it in time? Is is COMPLETELY sold out again?!

 

Yeah, I believe I posted it in the Yahoo Group and the Comic-Con 2010 thread. First, the 4-day badges with Preview Night sold out, then the 4-day badges without Preview Night sold out. Soon, they'll start selling individual day passes. So, people still can go. But the downside to that is that it requires registering for a new badge every day.
