I faxed mine in the other day. I hope they got it. I guess I'll check my credit card in a few days to see if it was charged. If not, I'll just redo it with snail mail and pay the extra five bucks I guess :(

Do they traditionally send any kind of confirmation or do you just wait to see if your check is cashed or whatever?

    Hey all,

I was asked by SCG to let everyone know of the 501st dinner that will be goin on for the Friday night at CC. Dale asked that I post it here in this thread. It's $40.00 ($41.50 paypal) but it is all you can eat!! :D Also confirmed for the dinner are:

Steve Sansweet, Mary Franklin, the Rubio brothers (Troops fan film), Ray Park, Karen Travis (Republic Commando author and Clone/Mando expert for SW Insider)

If anyone knows any other SW related celebs/vips they would like to invite please contact Cris of SCG. His email is in the body of this message. If you're not 501st, email him and mention you're a FF member and have done events with the 501st and that a 501st member mentioned this to you. So please confirm with him before sending payment so there is no confusion:

WHO MAY ATTEND: There is a reason we are calling this the 501st and FRIENDS dinner. While the majority of people in attendance will most certainly be 501st members, we highly encourage you to invite your Spouse, family members, close friends etc. Are you not actually a member but a costumer that has participated in one of our events? You are absolutely welcome to join us. I have estimated our attendance at 70 people, but the room we have reserved can actually hold well in excess of 100 people, so if you plan to be in San Diego please join us!

BASE PRICE: $40 per person, (children 12 and under can eat for $11)
NOTE: In order to make this as affordable as possible for everyone, helping to pay for Celebrities and VIP Guests is OPTIONAL.

    Option 1: SPONSOR A CELEB!

If you know a particular celebrity and would like to invite them to dinner you may pay the entire cost of their meal for them as well as your own. You personally invite your guest, make all of the arrangements, and sit next to them at dinner. We feel that this is a more personal touchy feely way of doing it this year.

For a list of currently sponsored VIPS and other potential guests please email me (kimncris@netzero.net) or check this thread on the SCGarrison boards. (must be 501st to view unfortunately)

    http://www.southerncaliforniagarrison.com/smf/index.php/index.php?topic=593.0

Option 2: Donate a little extra to the cause and we'll do the inviting.

Don't know anyone in particular, but still want to help get some cool guests? Donate a little or a lot, whatever you like. $5.01 has a nice ring to it... It's up to you. All donations will be used to invite as many VIPs as possible to dine in comfort with us, courtesy of the 501st. Any extra money left over (if any) will be donated to the Children's Hospital of San Diego.

RSVP: We need to be able to tell the restaurant a firm number 1 week prior to the event. Payment must be received no later than July 14, 2006. Hopefully this is enough time for everyone to save up. If you know now that you will be attending, please post here and how many guests you intend to bring so that we can keep the restaurant apprised of our numbers.

    HOW TO PAY:

    PAYPAL: kimncris@netzero.net

Please send me $41.50 per person and the names of everyone in your part

Thanks for the info'elmo :) So, is there anyone from the Fan Force who plans to go? It sounds like fun, but I'd only feel comfortable going as a 'friend' if some of the 501st/Fan Force members I knew planned to attend (Robert, Matt, Dale off the top of my head).

I'll most likely go. I'd like to see what other celebs are going. It'd be nice to have people like Michonne Bourriague or Orli Shoshan for dinner. I mean, to eat. I mean, to eat with. I mean, to watch eat. Forget it! =P~

Well, I missed that dinner :( At $40.00 I wasn't sure who would be going. I guess once the guys know for sure that they are going (bought their dinner ticket) I guess we can tack ourselves on as 'friend of' their TS or ID #? I guess we have until July (no limit on number of guests/attendees?)

A full day in costume at a con, shouldn't be too dificult :D

$40 for an all you can eat buffet isn't too bad.. that's just a few bucks more than some places in Vegas .. plus you get to schmooze with LFLites :D

If you still can't afford to go, hang out by the windows and we'll start tossing food out to you guys [face_laugh]

Maybe we could give the money to Matt or Robert and they could send in a list for all of us, since they said they wanted a head count of everyone who is going.

Hey Matt. Are those two spots in the hotel taken yet? cause me and Josh were thinking of taken those spots if that was postible. We missed that Dead line for the April cute off. but were going to get the June 7th tickets for sure!!! We really want to go so that would be perfect if that room was open still. If not that would be ok. I just thought that i would ask. Oh yes and when are you leaving here? will it be on the Tuesday July 18th? Yeah I know I have a lot of questions but hey better to ask then not to you know? [face_dancing]

Yes, those two spots are still free, Ash. We usually arrive around noonish on Wednesday (Preview Night), and (most of us are) coming back home Monday.

If anyone had questions regarding the 501st dinner, here's an e-mail I sent, along with the response:

    Hi, Cris.

Matt Tolosa here from the Golden Gate Garrison and
San Francisco Fan Force. Some SFFF members
(including myself) had some questions about the
dinner at ComicCon. First of all, there are members
in the SFFF who are also 501st. How many non-501st
members can we bring with us? They're Fan Force as
well as Rebel Legion members who have helped/attended
with 501st events in the past. Does that count?

Also, how does the sponsorship work. If we find
out a celebrity will be there, do we contact them or
their agent and ask them if they'd like to attend?
I know the deadline to receive payment is July 14,
but if all spaces (100?) fill up before then, I'd
assume that would be it(?) So, if whoever wants to
go wants to give me the money, I could give one lump
sum to you, along with a list of names from our
group(s). Would we be sitting together, or would
you prefer everyone sit with different people?

That's all for now, but if anyone else has
    questions, I'll let you know.

    Thanks.

    Matt Tolosa

    Hi Matt,

I don't think bringing FF friends is a problem at all.
In fact I asked Linda and Donna to invite our FF and
RL friends down here as well. Right now, we have
plenty of spots left- it is jsut supposed to be a fun
night for all of us SW costumers to get together for a
nice dinner. I may also have an opportunity to get a
bigger room if we go over 100 ppl, so if we have
enought notice, that might also be a possibility.

I don't mind everyone sitting together. Everyone
wants to sit with thier friends! :)

Yes you are correct about the sponsorships. Did you
already check out the list on our board of who has
been "pledged" ? Isay pledged because only Sansweet
has actually been paid for, but Mary from LFL, Ray
Park, The Rubios and Karen Traviss have also been
"sponsored" by people who just haven't given me the
money yet. I am assuming they are confirming
    availability.

I think a nicely worded e-mail to the celeb or thier
agent would be the best way, but we can also hold a
spot and invite at comic-con in person if need be. If
it didn't work out, I could just refund the $40 to
    you.

We also have a plan to just donate a little extra on
top of the meal price and I will do the inviting. I
am hoping to get enough $$ this way to invite Peter
and Angie or Jan Duuresma and Joe Corroney if nobody
    else sponsors them.

Hope to see you guys there and I have no problem with
you inviting as many of your friends and family as you
    can afford :)

    Talk to you later,

    -Cris

I finally bought my LotR concert ticket this morning. Are there actually assigned seats for the Lawn seating? They gave me a seat number. Seems somewhat impractical for a lawn area. Or maybe it's more to track the number of people?

I think that's it. I'm surprised there are still seats avialbale. The performances in SF for the cheap seats are already sold out.

Lawn is general admission - which means plop yourself where you want. No seat assignments.
