[COMM] How active should moderators be in their respective forums?

I don't understand why you people are having such a hard time getting ahold of JMT. Isn't that what Phil's new policy was for -- being able to get ahold of JC staff if needed? Why not give dear old Jimty a ring?

But if her home address was, how hard would a reverse lookup be?

 

We do not have access to that information. All that we did was register at the site and then pass our registration name to Grilled, to be passed on to Philip.

Is there a timeline as far as what the process is when trying to contact a mod who is missing? How long after intial contact attempts are they demoted, and when will discussion in the mod squad happen as to whether or not they will be allowed back if they do come back?

 

In the past, two weeks offline has typically been the mark for automatic demotion. A few moderators have hit that point, including cbjedi, ST and JMT (in March of 2003), and some others I'm not thinking of.

JMT was asked/allowed back later in the year, cbjedi didn't want to return and ST wasn't allowed back.
