all the gag reels from the first three seasons back to back. i think i've seen them all before but i still watched the whole thing. also i would totally watch a show that was nothing but alison freestyle rapping.

I loved Pierce at the end. Yeah Pierce is an idiot, but sometimes he's amazing.

 

Did anyone else expect Jeff's puppet at the end there to turn into a vampire?

 

i guess i'm kind of ambivalent about this episode. didn't love it but it was still entertaining.

 

This review touches on that idea some. Otherwise, I can't find anything on the AV Club. There are no For Our Considerations, which is where I'd expect it to be.

 

He gave an episode a C-? Was he murdered by the AV Club commenters?

 

This was a solid episode. Nice pop culture parody, brilliant puppets, the musical numbers worked well in this context. Would have liked a few more specifically muppet moments. No Chevy Chase, and nicely covered up.

 

Hmm, I felt the musical numbers were way below par. The songs from the Glee episode were excellent with great production values. The compositions in this episode were "flat" for want of a better word. The tunes were too haphazard, didn't stick in the memory, and too hard to sing along to.

And Jeff's hair was terrible

On the plus side "I'm a Deanius" - lol

 

Yeah, what was up with that?!

 

i thought it was intentional since they had just come back from their psychedelic berry trip in the woods and he had presumably been away from his hair product.

 

No, the first line was "Okay, this awkward silence has been going on for days."

 

well shirley was still wearing a burnt shirt so i dunno.

 

The balloon song made me so happy I cried, no joke. I forgot all the other songs, though.

Underwhelmed this week after the awesomesauce of last week's Britastrophe.

 

This last episode made me feel like Community's just another sitcom now.

 

Every sitcom has done a puppet episode

 

i know when i was watching that puppet episode i was thinking "pffft this is just like frasier".

 

the darkest timeline thing at the end of this week's episode kind of makes we wish they had gone crazy over the top with this season. the opener made it seem like they were going to go in that direction, but since then it's felt pretty tame. maybe it's weird to say that after a muppets eating psychedelic berries episode, but it's how i feel. they had to know this was probably going to be the last season and i wish they would have just done something really off the wall. keep the community sense of humor, but have an ongoing darkest timeline subplot, or something instead of rehashing chang as the villain all over again. this season has become pretty formulaic and maybe it had to. maybe bucking the formula and doing something really crazy would have been even worse, but at least the show would have gone out in a blaze of glory instead of slowly fizzling out until no one cares anymore.

 

The Darkest Timeline bit was the only good part. This was a very Meh episode.

 

I didn't like the start with the obvious "long camera shots" and the repeated gift-bringing.

But then you add Malcolm McDowell and you've got yourself a treat! A great speech from Jeff about how the group is as strong as its weakest member. But I am now getting bored of the Chang story. It needs moving on and quickly.

But then again, Malcolm McDowell!

 

His character was probably the best part of the episode.

And it's unclear if "the Darkest Timeline" is actually "real" (outside the "Chaos Theory" episode) or inside Abed's head. The goateed Abed was imaginary last season when he appeared again, remember.

 

I would love nothing more than for Chang to somehow be working in cahoots with the Darkest Timeline. It would make for an epic season/series finale to have the two study groups square off against each other.

 

Ooh, first!

Best episode this season by a long shot.
