Let's say KK's "agenda" is indeed to attract more women to SW. Is this bad, and if so, why?

 

it's not bad thing and I know since I have 3 sisters that have watched all 6 movies because of yours truly's convincing but none of them really care about SW but having female characters like Rey and Phasma (especially Rey) and advertisement like that could make them watch this new trilogy without me having to convince them.

 

I remember back in 1999 catching my then wife in the bathroom doing her makeup like Queen Amidala. If anything, this licensing move reflects a previously missed opporunity that is long overdue.

I've said it before...geek culture complains that there aren't more geek girls/women, but then complains when anything is done to make geek girls/women feel welcome at the table.

 

There were cellphone provider promo campaigns for the PT, too. Cingular (now part of AT&T) had them then.

 

I don't really feel it's needed and honestly I think some on all sides are making too big a deal about it.

 

can't believe Queen Amidala's lipstick style didn't at least start a summer trend

 

a girl working at one of the theaters near me used that look when ep 1 came out. it was nice.

Yeah... I'm pretty sure we've seen DV75 talk about "KK's agenda" before, and it's getting pretty tiresome.

I wish there'd be a tie-in as involved as the Pepsi / Taco Bell one during the Phantom Menace days. I doubt Subway will do anything that cool. I want collectible cans with all the characters! And I don't even drink soda anymore...

Subway's main thing to do for movie promos seems to be those reusable movie-branded bags that they put kid's combo meals into. Not a very exciting product, and it also happens to have the worst possible sandwiches included.

 

The mindset of some when it comes to women having important roles in Star Wars.

Well, at least I can still get behind kids' cereals. Maybe General Mills will do something worthwhile. They did do those Saga posters recently. Perhaps character posters or collectible toys inside the box?
