PT Completed my Revenge of the Sith Trailer, wanted you guys to check it out

I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed creating it, I hope to someday work on films like Star Wars so any help or feedback I get would be really appreciated. Ultimately I made this solely for my love of Star Wars and it's films.

 

You captured the essence of Anakin's story really well. The one suggestion I have is not to have the same continuous fade out/in between scenes.

Also, I'd give it a 10/10 if you were to swap some of those fade-outs with screen wipes .

 

Always nice to see people using Vimeo instead of Youtube, I'll watch when I get home.

Yeah, music, voice-overs, scene selection... all were spot on... best fan trailer that I've seen in years.

the only thing I would be concerned about (if it was a real trailer and I hadn't seen the film) is that it gave a bit too much away, (in particular Dooku's death, and Anakin on the lava bank at the end) I'd want to see that in the theater, not a trailer

If you like your Batman music, you should try and create one for a film that never happened-make a fan trailer where Anakin confronts and destroys Sidious in in the final act of the prequels.

 

These comments have me feeling very chuffed thank you for all the kind comments. Upon reflection I do think I used the fade too much in certain areas. I agree it is quite spoilery but made it purely for the people who have seen it and love Star Wars.

This is really great. Along with the other suggestions about the fadeouts, there's a problem where some of the sound mixing of the soundtrack in the second half overpowers some of the dialogue - like when Dooku is talking to Anakin. Other than those little things, this is perfect.

 

Yeah i agree with you, i'm still coming to terms with audio editing but i think i have improved. Thank you for the comments.

 

I also showed it to a couple of friends, one of whom absolutely loathed the prequel films, and his comment was, "This trailer makes me realise just how good the prequels could have been."

Yeah i prefer Vimeo layout and overall site are great to use, just harder to promote compared to youtube.

 

You've got a talent there no doubt. You made an average film look very good. Have you thought of doing something similar with ESB?

 

Absolutely BEAUTIFUL. The story of Star Wars is how the victim becomes the villain, and ROTS is the prime movie that reveals this. You nailed it with this. You showed the emotional and the climatic scenes that make the viewers want to see what this movie is about and how it ties everything together. I think you have talent and that this could be one step into the right direction. Good luck!

The original trailer is one of my favorite trailers of all time. Yours gives away a little too much to have worked as an official trailer. However, it is very well-done, especially the beginning.
