then i probably shouldn't tell you the story when i was in college...we were driving out here from ohio...there was a 15-passenger van w/ carriers on top...and another car...well we were well BORED i mean it was KANSAS after all.

i had the van up to ooh 110...we were 'playing' leap frog...we fly past the cop. my friend and i both freaked out...never saw a light in the mirror...actually we SOlucked out on that one!

 

I think you should get a black plastic tarp big enough to cover the trailer and paint a big red Rebel symbol on side and a big Imp cog on the other.

I wanna go to this thing this time but have no plan whatsoever. Getting a 2K5 Mustang in a few weeks and debating getting a SW paintjob just for C3 lol and then stripping it all off and getting it plain silver again. Or I should just fly.. lol

Ok, I think we have finally nailed it down. We will be leaveing Denver on Tues @ approx 8pm. I'm planning on driving straight through so we can check in on Wed evening, because I don't want to have to leave in the middle of the day on Thu to check into the hotel. Then we are planning to leave Indy on Sunday evening, at about 7pm, after we eat.

 

I'm sure that this has been discussed, but I didn't wanna wade back through the entire thread to find it.

For the folks that are driving, what is the concensus on Wednesday night? Will you be staying at the Con Hotel in Indy, or somewhere else?

My thought was to stay somewhere substantially cheaper on Wednesday, then check in to the Con Hotel on Thursday. This would eliminiate one expensive night at the Con Hotel, which might be worth the slight inconvenience.

Any thoughts?

Most definitely... After the RMFF blowout on Wednesday night... You're going to want that extra sleep that already being there entitles you to

Besides, the way they overbook rooms at hotels, I'd be afraid of showing up Thursday to find there is no longer any room at the inn

 

JO...Rather than a WHOLE NEW PAINTJOB...might I suggest a photo print on car-sized vinyl decals? It'd be a lot cheaper than 2 paintjobs. Just need to have the design laid out for them to print and cut, and then slap the decals on.

If I was driving and had a white car, I'd make it look like a Republic Gunship or Jedi Starfighter. Or if I had a blue car, Anakin's pod racer...if yellow, his Episode 3 Starfighter. If I had a bus, a Jawa Sandcrawler. LOL.

 

what would you do with a silver car?

 

At this point, I am committed to driving.

I'll be departing with the majority of the SCARAVAN on Tuesday morning.

 

SS-if all else fails and you cant get a car mate we could switch folks out at gas stops so no one drives alone.

My plan for the drive out involves catching I-225 from my place to I-70 and following it straight to Mecca (read: C3). By leaving no later than 7AM on Tuesday, we should be able to make it to this side of St. Louis by 7-8PM and stopping for the night. Then heading out in the morning to make it to Indy some time around lunch on Wednesday.

The drive back involves leaving Monday at 7AM and maybe driving straight through on the way back... Mostly because I don't want to spend the night in Kansas, but I guess we'll see how everyone is doing at the time... Otherwise, we'll stop in Goodland for the night

 

IB...That's just it -- I can't think of anything to do with a silver car. I suppose TIE stuff would work...maybe. I only like the silver cuz it's very unobtrusive and doesn't stand out very well in a herd of speeding cars. LOL.

And Rachel won't let me get a yellow car. Instead of Anakin's fighter, it'd really end up painted like Racer-X's "Shooting Star" and I'd always wear a mask cuz Racer-X is my hero.
