It looks like there will be events all before that week down in SoCal...

One of the highlights for fans at a Star Wars convention is the chance to buy unique merchandise, including an exclusive, limited-edition action figure. Because this has led to bottlenecks and long lines in the past, the Celebration IV store will be bigger than ever, self-service, well-stocked with merchandise, have plenty of check-out lanes...and be open 24 hours a day from the opening of the show on Thursday until the close on Monday!

No more 10 hour line-ups! Woo-hoo!

need to get fan club membership and we need to book a hotel asap

requesting holiday time today for sure

 

They figure hotels/tickets won't go up until late Sept/early Oct... but there's no reason we can't book a hotel as soon as they're up (should be able to reserve for this time next year right about now)... If the con rates are better then we can cancel/switch.

 

yeah we should be ablet to book now cause you can book a year in advance, then we can always cancel later, plus they ended up giving us con rates anyways last time we booked early.

Okay, so here's what needs to be done (just off the top of my head).

- Decide HOW we get there (road trip = no brainer, but I cannot find any freaking vans)

- Get someone an AMA/CAA membership (those trip-tiks were a lifesaver)

- Book hotels (and have names and numbers in place by X-date)

- See if Calgary will chip in on transportation or convoy with us.

- Once transport is arranged we need to do up a budget. i.e. how much per person/gas/lodging on the road/etc. (yes, Jay, we'll have prices ASAP )

- Get print-offs of maps of LACC and surrounding areas (including our hotel if we're close enough)

Anything else?

Where? I've phoned every place in town, I've looked everywhere online... If it's The Driving Force then forget it... they had ridiculous km allowance/day and their rates were just stupid... plus you couldn't take them out of the country.

 

Woo Hoo! Gotta love an excuse to go to LA!! And the Fabric Store Meca is spitting distance from the con. center.
I have the maps and tour books for all the states between here and there. We'll probably be looking at about $200 a night per room.

budget won't let you take them out of canada, iirc.

they're the ones who actually had vans available for rent, but didn't have any in edmonton to rent out...

As for this west canada tours website i'm checking it out now... i'm going to email them to see if we'd be allowed to take them out of the country.

They don't have a hot tub... I know a lot of places down there won't have a hot tub, but still...
