I will be there tonight. Just pm me Mika. Amy is bellydancing at the con around 9pm or 10pm so I will be sneaking out to go watch her for a bit. It is free to everyone that has a con pass too. I wont be in costume tonight. Prolly just going to wear a Star Wars T-shirt and some jeans. But tomorrow is the big day to be in costume. I'm going to shoot to be there by 12pm at the latest. Since it takes alot of work to put a costume together, I'm just going to wear it all day and into the night. Might even enter in to the Masquerade. Oooooo the excitement!! I'll see you guys tonight!

DarKyram--(and others) No, no costume tonight unless you are so moved. Just us sitting around chewing the fat and enjoying each other's company before the chaos Saturday. I'll give you a call this evening so you can find us.

Zannah--check in isn't until 3PM so I may or may not be there. I might be shuttling stuff between my home and the hotel. No worries, I haven't forgotten your lightsaber

Mindtwister--I haven't forgotten you. Just don't have a room number yet. Be looking for it this afternoon. Just bring yourself. If you want to bring some chips or a 2 liter or something feel free but I should have everything covered.

I'll be dressed comfortably tonight but expect to be in costume most of the day tomorrow and tomorrow night. There might be a room party or two tonight if we want to wander a bit but the bulk of the parties are Saturday night. Some people like to dress relaxed for the room parties but costumes are always a big hit!

Hey ya'll. I'mma be a li'l bit late. Ran into a last minute snag, but everything should be good.

 

As it looks like I will be unable to make it, on the off chance that the merchandise room has some Star Wars t-shirts (XL), "toys", etc. for a reasonable price would someone pick me up something cool and I will reimburse you later.

 

Let me just say that The Force is strong with the Yoda Soda. It's ally is the Force. And a powerful ally it is! It almost made me pull a Crosscurrent in the refresher last night, if ya know what I mean. But it tastes so stang good!! Whew!!

I'm planning on starting a folder, but I don't want to upset anyone by posting their pictures if they do not want to be seen.

 

Okay, the "Con Phone" is off and the ban of silence on my room party is over. Feel free to discuss but remember this is a family forum I'm still processing the events of last night and am in dire need of some sleep but I wanted to thank everyone who came out and helped make my party a success. You all we fine representatives of Star Wars fandom and I'm proud to count you among my friends.

 

Hey ya'll! I had a blast meeting you this weekend. Unfortunately a bunch of the photos on my camera came out really bad, lighting or blurring at fault. So I'll be posting the decent ones in my photobucket and a link will be forthcoming.

Again, it was a big pleasure meeting you guys! As I said as I threw the deuces last night, ya'll is stuck with me and I'm looking forward to the next get together!

 

Wow! Wow!..... .... .... Did I say,"WOW"!

What a night! I had one of the best times I've ever had in my life! Kinda freaked a little bit at one point, won't discuss here... but even "that" was... shall we say... "Interesting" behavior. People are the most entertaining beasts on the planet, you just have to observe and enjoy yourself.

This was the perfect Con for me to test the water, and the water is PERFECT! I'm looking forward to the next Con.... and CELEBRATION, HERE I COME!

Mika, your party made the whole experience complete for me. "Truly". It was wonderful.

The memory of my first Con will go down in the analogues of my memory with feelings of warmth and comradary. Thank you all.... wow. You guys are the best, the best, the best ever.

Dar, welcome to the Alliance Nervod! I'm looking forward to having our Mando around, and I'm so glad you enjoyed our company, cuzz we sure enjoyed yours. Your Kit RAWKS!! And..... nervod..... thanks for the moment. A fantasy come to life. Don't wanta sound too personal, all he did was pose in a picture with me in the same stance Boba had in Return Of The Jedi, when in Jabbas palace, trouble started when Luke came in, and Boba reassured the ladies he'd been standing with, by placing a finger under their chin and giving it a slight lift. Gulp.... sigh... thanks.

O.K.... here are some pics. The bad news is, most of the pics we took during the photo shoot came out too dark. There were only two that came out light enough to save. One of me and Lord Nocturnus, and the one the Mando Merks and I took. That was very disappointing because the photo shoot pics were awesome. I got some good ones tho, so all is well.

Had fun. Been a long time since I last went to a con, so it was great to be back, ran into people I have seen in along time. Had fun. Yoda-soda: Just like the real yoda, it's green, it comes in a small package, and it will kick your @$$. Loved the pics. Sorry Zannah that some came out dark. I'll see what I can do to them. Email all the pics to me, I'l see if I can't fix them.

 

Oh, and I thought the panel went very well. Frankly, I thought I did a great job promoting out club, and hopefully we can get some new, and cool, members. Zannah, Mika, and the Mandos stole the show with their costumes-- which the crowd was very much interested in.

And, the Room party was out of this world.

Hi There Master Jai-Rew! Yes, we had a wonderful time! The Con its self was fun, and Mika and Miss Mikas party was incredible fun! I ate up the attention at the photo shoots... uh-hmmm. Yea, I'm shameless! LOL! And the light saber came from Mika. Its the one he picked up on e-bay, then sold it to me. I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT, I LOVE IT!! It completes my costume and gives it that extra cannon appearance that it so needed. It would be like a Vader with no helm. Take a good close up look at Zannahs saber on the book "Rule Of Two". Its an exact replica of Darth Mauls. Which since she lived long before he did, I guess you could now say that, Darth Mauls is a replica of hers. You were missed, along with Eleven, Bulbous, and Fared. All of you that weren't there were missed!

I was exhausted as well, but it was soooo worth it. I had a blast, and I actually am still hurting from laughing so much. I'm glad that everyone liked the pictures I took as well. Thanks to everyone for such a great party!!!!!

 

Thanks Jedimommy. That means a lot. So much I won't do the tirade I planned about the hotel. I did a room party to make it a more enjoyable con going experience for people so I'm glad to have succeeded. I probably won?t throw a party again next year but time will tell. Or if I do it may be just a private party. Are you local or did you come into Louisville for the con? Don't make us wait a year before hearing from you again

Had some time to process now and here?s my thoughts.

I thought the Con itself ran very smoothly and our panel was treated with a lot of respect by having it held in the prime location of the ballroom. I loved our participation in the Con and I think we offered something quite different from the usual panel. In fact, I think even the audience wasn?t ready for what we offered. I think they were expecting just a generic Star Wars discussion panel. Jammies was well spoken and made the LGA stand out from the costuming groups who, to an outsider, probably all seemed cut from the same cloth.

As I mentioned to some of you I was a little disappointed that those of us that dressed up in costumes weren?t treated like the rock stars I thought we were . Costumes in the halls at Conglomeration seem to be a rare sight (except for the RenFair variety) and I thought we would be mobbed for pictures. People seemed pretty indifferent. Maybe if we keep going back we?ll inspire some others and we?ll see more costumes in the future.

I do hope we keep going back and promoting our Star Wars fandom. We need a little more scifi favor and a little less pirate flavor (although I do like wenches in corsets).

Oh, and FYI the Falcon is lost in action. The tacky putty we had to use to get it to stick to the textured wall had a certain affinity for the Fathead adhesive and would not come off. Looked pretty darn awesome, I may pick up another one.

Thanks Jedimika-- I understand about the hotel, I was frustrated with things and hope that next year the other tower is open and they can keep the mundanes out of our block of rooms because that was frustrating to have our parties shut down for noise when for a con security showed up when we were pretty quiet. I am local. I have been to every conglom since 2000. i do plan to be more active on this board. I forgot why I stopped visiting this board but until the room party I had forgotten the name of the local group and the URL.

I am surprised you didn't get treated more like rock stars. I knew it would be a hard weekend for me, long story, so I was afraid of taking a camera for fear it would be lost. As soon as I saw you guys I regretted not having a camera with me. I actually had a few pictures taken of me I guess you get some woman to dress in the slave girl outfit and she will be treated like a rock star. LOL..

I actually wondered this weekend what happened to all the sci-fi costumes. Saturday night the theme of the night seemed to be pirate wench night. Guess I didn't get the memo cause I wore that outfit Friday and my Ghostbusters outfit Saturday.

I agree keep wearing your costumes, maybe we can bring more sci-fi back to the con.
