Well there is some debate suddenly. I need to check with the person who came up with the question and find out why they left off David Dozoretz. He was the supervisor and I personally think he counts in the group... That could change the winner but I am waiting to hear back from the question author...

 

Erm, yeah. Dozoretz is very important. It would be like saying Coleman had nothing to do with the character animation, you know...

Either way, good job on getting a quick answer in, Obi's, regardless on what the outcome of the debate will be.

I did NOT put David Dozoretz in my answer because on every site I could find, he was listed as the SUPERVISOR not an actual artist. This is what I found DIRECTLY TAKEN FROM STAR WARS.COM:

It did as Princess said ask Specifically for the Artists.

 

But Dozoretz, while being labeled as the supervisor, still worked on the animatics themselves. Just like -to use this example again- Coleman worked on character animation AND supervised the group.

The supervisor is the link between the director and the team. He's the one who forwards messages from Lucas to the team, but he is a part of that team himself.

 

I do understand the point, BUT...why then don't they list that specifically in any of the credits found?

A lot of people supervise and oversee things that they themselves do not actually work on. If he was an artist on the project, wouldn't he have been listed as such? As an artist AND supervisor? They didn't do that in ANY credits I found anywhere.

One could argue a person's involvement on other levels as well. What about Lucas? He is massively involved in all his projects and everything that is done with his films is related to him simply for the fact that HE created the Star Wars universe alone.

I discussed this with Q-S and we agree, the answer stands. The points remain as I announced earlier. The reason has been pointed out but I will review it here. The question specifically asked for the artists, not the supervisor. Had the first answer listed all the artists AND Dozoretz, I would have taken it as correct, but the first answer did include all of the names we were asking about.

 

I know the issue is done with, but

As far as I remember, only three questions out of the whole lot were contested, and they happen to be ones you got points for, but I'm sure they would have been contested too had it been other teams that got them.

Don't feel like nobody likes you, Obi's. You've done a good job so far.

 

Thank you jedi! Sometimes I wonder....And actually the age one was contested and I know we didn't get that one... And I did disagree with that answer...In fact there have been a couple that I disagreed with the actual answer that was given but I only spoke up when I felt the answer really was incorrect....

 

on the contested answers based on interpretation of the question, people have said that they should be redone and clarified to not punish the people who misinterpreted the question. I think that if we had redone any questions because of this, it would be unfair to those who interpreted them correctly.

I think the calls so far have been fair, the obis are just faster and crazier than the rest of us
