Congratulations to your City Rep, Grilled-Sarlacc, and the rest of you, for putting together such a great group so quickly!

Guys, all you have to do is go to the frozen food section of your local grocery store, and there you should find plenty of Sara Lee cheesecakes to choose from. The one with the chocolate chips is especially good.

South Region Newsletter #8, Feb. 2002

Greetings! It has been awhile since the last South Region newsletter was sent out. We have a lot of catching up to do, as much has happened since then. This is my first attempt at putting together a newsletter, so don?t say I didn?t warn you!

New South Region RSA

Hama-Ryu Kinnebi, who was the FanForce South Regional Support Admin for quite some time, was promoted to FanForce Global Support Admin in October of 2001. Congratulations to Hama on his promotion!

When Hama moved up in the FanForce world, the position of South Regional Support Admin needed to be filled. Fortunately for me, I, Minacia_Brightstar, was chosen to take over as the South Region RSA. I?m hoping that with a little hard work, and some help from all of you, that we can grow and bring even more people from our region into the FanForce fold. If anyone has any questions or concerns about our region, or about FanForce in general, please feel free to contact me at minacia@fanforce.net.

Ft. Lauderdale Is Now An Official FanForce Chapter

Since the last newsletter was released, Ft. Lauderdale has become an official FanForce chapter. A belated congratulations to Ft. Lauderdale!

Nashville City Rep Gets Promoted to USA RSA

The FanForce forums have been growing and will continue to become more active as the Episode II release date approaches. In response to this, the FanForce Global Support Staff decided that it would be a good idea to appoint a ?floating? USA Regional Support Admin to assist in the Celebration II forums, and to help out the other RSAs. Nashville?s City Rep, Elan-Rai, was chosen to take over this role. Congratulations, Elan-Rai!

Orlando, FL Works Toward Becoming An Official FanForce Chapter

Star Wars fans in Orlando held their very first meeting on December 9th, at the Hunt Club library. Despite the fact that their meeting area had a large poster of Barney pasted on the wall, they bravely carried on. After wrapping up their meeting, they made their way to Chili?s for dinner. Their second meeting came shortly thereafter in January. First, they met at Chili?s for lunch, and then gathered at the library for the meeting. They will be holding their third meeting on February 9th, at the Hunt Club library. At the completion of the Feb. 9th meeting, Orlando will be eligible for official FanForce chapter status.

Rumors that several members of the Chili?s staff were hospitalized for hysteria and exhaustion after the Orlando group visited their establishment have not been confirmed.

South Region Newsletter #9, March 2002

I can hardly believe that it is March already. It seems just like
last week when I released the February edition of this newsletter.
The South region has seen much activity of late, which is a very good
thing. And the release of Attack of the Clones draws ever closer.
Since so much has been going on, I suppose I'd better get on with the
news.

ORLANDO BECOMES AN OFFICIAL FANFORCE CHAPTER!

Fans in Orlando held their third meeting on February 9th, thus
earning official FanForce chapter status! Their chapter name
is "Orlando System," and they have chosen Cigam Retah to be their
City Rep.

Congratulations to the folks in Orlando on becoming an official
FanForce chapter! They are a terrific group!

HAVELOCK, NC IS NOW OFFICIAL!

Orlando wasn't the only FanForce chapter working toward official
status on Feb. 9th. On that day, fans in Havelock, NC also held
their third meeting. Well, actually, they went fishing, but they had
enough people in the boat to meet FanForce "officialdom"
requirements. So, Havelock is now official!

The Havelock FF chapter name is "Spice Miners," and the group's
members have elected Grilled-Sarlacc to be their City Rep.

stepped down from his City Rep position in Nashville. He has

TAMPA, FL BEGINS ORGANIZING

Star Wars Fans in Tampa, FL have begun their quest to become an
official FanForce chapter. They held their first meeting on Sunday,
March 10th, at the home of Soto_Fett. They will be holding their
second meeting on Saturday, March 16, at 6:30 p.m. The meeting
location will once again be the home of Soto_Fett. For more

CHARLOTTE, NC FANS TO HOLD FIRST MEETING

Folks in Charlotte, NC will be holding their very first meeting this
Friday, March 15th. They plan to begin meeting at 4:00 p.m. in the
parking lot of Rack `Em Pub and Billiards, located at 343 West John
Street in Matthews. For more information check out the Charlotte Forum.

Is it just me, or is the Southern Region really packed with City Forums? We rock!

 

Yeah, the Southern Region has gotten quite a few city forums! Yay!

I'm not reading the AotC book until after I see the movie. And do you have any idea how tempted I am to click on that link below in the "Latest Headlines" box that says "AOTC Soundtrack Full Track Listings"? I'm not going to, though, because that would be a potentially large spoiler.

C'mon May 16th! Come faster!

 

I am definitely reading the novel before the movie comes out. I did that last time for Ep1 and it did not ruin the experience for me. IMO, it enhanced it. I knew so much more background-related stuff for each scene so it had more impact.

Another thing I can't wait to get my hands on is the new soundtrack!!!!

 

It will be a real test of my willpower not to read the novel before the movie. It will be on every bookstand and I will see it within reach. But I really want to see it first and then read the book to get all the details while the movie is fresh in my mind.

 

I read the Episode I novel after I saw the movie the first time. When I went back to see the movie again, it was a richer experience.

I've ordered my Episode II release poster, so I'm pretty happy. Now I'm waiting to get my grubby little hands on the soundtrack.

 

Yeah, I think I'll see it once, read the book that night, and go see it again as soon as I can after that! Hopefully.

And I'm not even looking at the soundtrack, because my cousin said it ruined TPM when he got that soundtrack before he saw the movie, because of "Qui-Gon's Noble End" he knew Qui-Gon would die... I know, that's pathetic, oh well. LOL!

It'll definately be a good patience exercise.
