Convention Booth Gimmick suggestions

As I said in the minutes of our 2nd council meeting. jedinov's friend is opening a toy store in Alabang Town Center on the third week of August, and they plan to have a Collectors' Convention then. SWP plans to participate by putting up a booth where we can make our presence felt, inform people of our existence, recruit new members, stuff like that. But we need some good gimmicks so that people will visit us. If you've got any suggestions at all related to this activity, please post them here.

Hmmm... while we're at it, I've got one. Let's try our best to have a working site by the convention. Then someone can bring a PC or Notebook and we can "exhibit" the site then. Visitors can use the PC to look thought the site and stuff.

Any other suggestions?

 

Hmm.. Create some sort of attractive flyer or business card for a give-away.. ? people love freebies.. LOL then it also wouldn't seem like such a hard sell..

The IndyKnights had a fanclub booth at CelebrationII a few months ago and we had several things:

-bags printed with our logo
-business cards and magnets made from the business cards
-we had drawings every day for giveaway items like colectables and book
-a PC running a slideshow of pictures from meetings, outings, and events

the bags ended up being a bit of a deal, but printing up business cards with your name and website, etc is always a cool thing to give away. Plus there are kits and paper where someone could print them out at home if you can't get them to a printer in time.

Anytime! But my Yoda isn't finished yet. And i can't afford a Stormtrooper costume. Not yet, anyway.


Jedi costumes from Camp Suki are sooo expensive to rent.

 

Borrow the life-sized statues of Darth Vader, Boba Fett and a Stormtrooper from Monna Kikki..
