Video Killed the Radio Star was written by Hans Zimmer, the Oscar-winning composer of Gladiator, The Lion King, The Rock, Crimson Tide, and Hannibal (to name but a few)

 

I thought it was written by that bloke who did all the production for Frankie Goes To Hollywood.

 

Nope. Mr Zimmer wrote TV themes, and wrote for The Buggles, before making it into Hollywood

 

Wow, who would have thought it ?

 

Yeh, Buggles was a duo that consisted of Trevor Horn (producer of acts like Petshop Boys, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Propaganda, Art Of Noise, Seal, and more recently, Tatu) and Geoff Downes (who i have never heard of since). Apparently, it's Hans Zimmer in the video for Radio star, now i never knew that. lol

On a similar note, i was quite disturbed to learn that William Orbit, a man who's production skills i have admired for a while, was also the person behind that Loadsa Money single all those years ago! That almost put me off him, finding that out.

Video Killed The Radio Star used to be one of my favourite tracks when I was a kid. I wonder if they'll ever make a follow up called "DVD Killed The Video Star"?

Yes, my spelling is absolutely awful. My posts are plagued by spelling mistakes and gramatical errors. I blame my English teachers, forcing my to read Shakespeare instead of teaching me how to spell.
