Corde's Failure

Why she "fails"?

Her only job it's to actually get killed instead of Padme... Why she says "Sorry my laidy I failed you"?

 

Corde was a big success. She convinced Zam she was the Padme.

 

In the explosion, Corde recieved major brain damage.

Slimy!

 

We had a topic on this awhile back, I think...

Now that she's dead, she's one less person to protect Padme, and now that their ruse has been revealed, it's put Padme into even more danger. It's sort of like that whole, "Sorry I'm dead now, you're next" thing.

 

Poor Corde', first day on the job and she can't keep Padme's dress clean.

 

She failed to get to the Senate as Senator Amidala.

Right. That's was her main mission-- to ensure safe passage for Padmé.

 

Didn't she kinda do that? She was a decoy afterall...

 

Since she was part of the security detail, one would think she failed because they let an assassin get close enogh to blow up the royal transport.

But her job wasn't to make sure the royal transport wouldn't explode, her job was to be a decoy and she did that, in fact she was such a good decoy they killed her.

There's something else... I don't think:

She failed to get to the Senate as Senator Amidala.

She did fail that, but I doubt it was one of her duties because the assigment a decoy gets it's to make people believe you are someone else... she did that.

To be that person, to be the bait, to ensure that the person you are covering does not get hurt, that's a decoy.
