    Cool beans.....
I am sure that my marching order screamed
    "Anal"....

and going further down the anal path....I started to think more about the time allowed for photos of the groups....

Of course...we need a BIG photo of everyone...but there was a couple requests for "individual" group photos....CF, TJA, RL and 501st...

So I thought maybe we could start at Noon sharp with Chicago Force group photo....then The Jedi Assembly....then the Rebel Legion...and have the largest group - the 501st last....then get everyone back in for the group photo....we just need to be done with all photos at 12:30 P.M.

Pffft. When has CF and schedules ever come into alignment. We'll end up taking pics around 2 and miss the parade.

Here are your marching orders, non-costumed CF'ers!
11am North Gate Carousal - if you want to travel around the zoo together
12:30pm North side of fountain, set up for a good parade spot

    Look for the CF shirts!

I will be there! I'm not sure what time, but I will definetly be at the fountain by 1230! My Mom wants to go (not sure why), and my sister has been bugging me to take her to the zoo all summer...so she'll be there as well.

    For those taking photo's,

    just a quick reminder,

Try to keep the sun on your back,

or Vader will look like just a dark shadow.

remember that what you see with your eyes,
is much much better/different than a camera.

for those in armor, keep track of where you are
in relation to the sun, or if the sun is in your eyes,
    then the better the photo,

also, if really bright, watch out for shaded areas,
the will also cause problems with
    auto focus, zooms, flash, etc.

if looking for a good parade spot,

consider having the sun in your back here as well,
by facing East and/or North.....even if it seems cloudy,

current weather forcast is for Sunshine:)
    with some clouds.

or, not everything can be fixed in photo-shop:)

any other regular photo takers care to chime in:)

    Good tips to remember Ed...

    and....

the last bit of anal-ness for the costumed participants went out in e-mail form this morining:

    Hi all,

I have received a couple requests with regard to our group photos that we will be taking before the Zoo Stars Parade on Sunday....a couple folks have asked that in addition to the huge group photo of all of the costumed participants that we take a couple photos of each individual costume group....and ...it sounds like a good idea....

I guess we can start out with the smaller costume groups at noon and work our way up.....I know that many people are members of more than one group....for example....Lionel is a member of Chicago Force, The Jedi Assembly and the Rebel Legion...so he would be needed for all three photos....

.also....there will be members like myself and Chris Schwarz...who may be a TJA member and a RL member and just not be in that costume for the day....so ....for the individual group photos....the first photo would be members in "member" costume...and the second photo would be all members of that group...regardless of the costume you are wearing....and the final group photo would be to invite EVERYONE in an appropriate costume to join in....for example....Quincy and Conor.....would love to have you guys in the 3rd Rebel Legion photo....

    Make sense?

At any rate...since I am starting with the smaller groups first we could go in this order:

    Chicago Force - noon
    The Jedi Assembly - 12:05
    The Rebel Legion - 12:10
    The 501st - 12:15
    Then the entire group....

We need to hustle....as we will have to get into marching order at 12:30 PM

See you Sunday....I am going to go and breathe into a paper bag right now!

For those taking a picture of me, make sure you compensate for the glare that will come off of my albino skin.

    nice...
    sigh...
At any rate...we have a new contact person...her name is Caroline...
I am going to head down to the Zoo and try to get there by 10:00 am...just to make sure there are no "issues"....

The big thanks needs to go to those who came out to both BE in the parade and to cheer us on!

It was great to see so many Chicago Force T-Shirts in the crowd...and to see some of our Costume Club marching...

Also....major thanks to our Prez - Carrie for passing this opportunity along to me!

My photos...courtesy of the wonderful folks who did me the favor of taking photos with my camera:

    Thanks again......
    and...
if you guys have photos to share...I would love to see them...

In my bucket...I didn't hear or see much of anything....lol...

Thank you Phyllis for coordinating this.
Folks, not only did she make sure there was pop and water available for her fellow marches, not only did she make sure R2 had a 'ride', not only did she take care of a hundred other details, she also did the march, in her no-can-see stormtrooper outfit.
Kudos to you Phyllis, you is awesome. :)

I am glad to see photos posted...and can't wait to see the footage you shot with Cheryl's video camera Carrie...

I really didn't see much of the parade...and each set of photos posted helps me to see what I missed....and seeing a video of it...well...that would really rock!

And...Jodokast....you were a riot with your Rancor! That little guy was a complete hoot! Apparently...a lot of folks thought so too...I have seen a number of photos of you with your Rancor floating around...
How did the arm bracers work out? Do they need adjustment or improvement? As soon as I get my sewing machine back from repair...or a new sewing machine...depending...I would be happy to make improvements on the bracers...

ref, an earlier Schph_Gochi, post from here then Zoo contact Ken,

Here is a paste of the e-mail I received last night from Ken:

We looked over all the costumes and they are all fantastic. All of the (adult and children) costumes will be OK in the zoo. We do ask that all the guns and lightsabers do not make any noise as not to scare any animals or guests. For the individuals that have multiple costumes we have chosen

    ----------------------------------------

I call attention to the line,

We do ask that all the guns and lightsabers do not make any noise
as not to scare any animals or guests.

So, the loud beating drums, for the ..uh....dancing Dragon,
    and
the tower of speakers for the, South Side Drill Team,

    were.........not noisy........

maybe they thought we were bringing our real blasters and lightsabres,
    instead of our parade ones,

Even Lionels "custom" speaker blaster, was not as loud
as the drums or tower of speakers....

Tho, we apparently did scare the animals, as I did not even see
a squirrel or bird, or even a gnat:)

lol...yes...I pretty much told Ken that most of the blasters don't make noise...and those that do ...well...they don't make enough noise.....especially the Lightsabers...

I don't know if he thought we were bringing Ion Cannons along....lol...

    Kewl!

I am bummed that we "costumed geeks and geek-ettes" didn't get a photo with all of the CF members that came to the Zoo...it would have been a GREAT photo....

    :_|

    For me...things were just nuts....
in addition to the planning and what not...I had a sewing machine crisis to deal with at the conclusion of the parade...
    [face_hypnotized]

and...I had to squeeze in one more geek moment before Dragon Con..

    last night...
    Highland IN
    Borders Books..
