    Ok guys,
We need 8-10 good topics on Costuming. It does NOT have to be just Star Wars. Five of those topics will be approved by Hugh and we go from there. We need to fill 5 hours - 1 hour for each panel so keep that in mind. If you would like to do a panel or you know someone that would, point them to me.

    Any good ideas? :)

BTW, this list needs to be submitted to Hugh no later than Sep 30 so we have time to get them organized. Keep in mind Dec 12 is a lot closer than you think it is. :)

I'd love to see Julia do the panel on Elven Armor she did at DC. What's nice to is there are enough of us who have done LOTR costumes to assist her if she needs it. :)

How about a panel on how to alter existing patterns into the costumes you see in Sci-Fi movies, mainly SW movies.

    Anyone else?

Give it a title Wendy and a short 1-3 sentence description.

I want to submit it to Hugh in a way that makes sense. :)

How about most original non-movie costume? Maybe stuff based on books or completely original ideas.

    Andrea suggested yesterday:
    "Easy Costuming for Children"
When selecting and making a costume for a child, you need to consider their age, and what is most comfortable for them. Easy costumes, tips, shortcuts and online resources will be shown and discussed.

    Sound good?

I can help with the children's costuming panel since I make all of Brandon's costumes.

Andrea let me know if you want my help. :)

I will have a title and short description for my idea posted by next week.

The Newbies Guide to SW Accessories

What accessories are needed to complete that SW look. Where see sanctioned pictures of accessories. Where to buy the matierials or accessories already made. Tutorial links or books assisting the Newbie.

    Is that ok?

Wendy I may call upon your expertise with the kids in the future. Thanks you are super! :D Andrea.

    How about:

    "Costuming on a budget"
Tips and tricks on how to save cash and still create a good costume.

I'm sure we all can contribute to this one. :D Discuss going "movie accurate" vs. cheap alternatives, learning to settle with what you can afford, etc.

I asked some of my friends what sort of things they'd like to find out at a costuming panel and they said materials locating. Where to get raw materials and supplies, alternative sources, what to use for what effect, etc. The problem I can see with this as a topic is that sources are often local or regional so I don't know how effective a panel it would be.

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. There's five so far..I'd like to see at least 3-4 more so Hugh can choose and we can get working on these. If you know someone who would like to run a costume panel on any of the above topics, let me know. :)

Any more ideas? Need 3-4 more to submit to Hugh.

Also, need to know who from our group would be willing to do panels. I figure 2-3 or more folks on a panel will do it. We can also ask folks from other groups to help us out. I will also help anyone put together a panel that needs it...this is our chance to shine at the con...let's do a great job!

How about an open costuming session. Everyone can share ideas and advice on whatever people want to ask about. People could even bring stuff to work on or show off. Mabey we can ask people to bring pictures of what they're trying to make and we can give suggestions? It's easier to solve specific problems for people than try to give general how-to's.

    How about:

    "Hardware store props"
    Prop projects under $50.

I might be repeating my self. I'm sure some of my ideas can be combined into a single forum.

    How about

Makeup and Hair tips for female characters
Where to buy, how to do, link sites and books on that Sw Look.

Sorry to exclude the male characters but except for Chewie I can't think of anyone who would need a how to hair tip. LOL :D

Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!

I've submitted the list to Hugh for review. As well, I've asked Spat if he'd do a panel and he agreed - most likely on masks and facial appliances. If Julia does her panel on Elven armor than we only have to staff 3 of the five panels. I am going to need folks of all abilities to staff. For example, if Newbie costuming is chosen then Karla, you would be a good one to assist with that since you are working on your Jedi. I will also need folks with more ability and knowledge as well as diversity of costumes. As soon as I get the chosen list back from Hugh I'll post it - then look through and decide what panel you'd like to be on!

If my idea is choosen then I will head tha panel myself.

I am also interested in helping out if the hardware prop panel is choosen.
