Thought I would post this thread seeing as the conversations about costumes are all over the place right now. I'll post the last few messages regarding the costumes here also.

Welshguy, both of those boots could be modified..yeah. AS Anakins boots look like they have whats called spats over the top of plain boots, in fact Obi Wans does too...though they might be built in.
Damn does this mean i have to buy the big full size Anakin poster just to study the costume....oh poor me.

No need to go out and waste your money on nasty old Anakin, Sakara. Thought this might help both of us.

Taking a look at Anakin's ep3 costume, it would seem that I have quite a bit of work to make my ep2 cosutme anywhere near this level.

Hell, I don't even have trousers!

The dark grey/black arms could be quite a challenge, considering that the ones I have now are dark brown.

It might almost be worth me scraping the ep2 costume and starting again. The only thing I could salvage are the tabbards (which I made) and the belt.

Trust me...its brown black...that tone value is odd in that pic, i think it might have something to do with the saber colouration.

that page shows the exhibit photos, and under flash you can see it still has a brown tone.. You could add a charcoal grey wash using a dylon cold dye to the brown/black tunic.it would make the brown a cold brown not a warm brown as it is in ep2.

Hey Welshguy, you were after places that do good fake facial hair
heres the tow i was thinking of
    http://www.screenface.com/beards.asp
    and
    http://www.charlesfox.co.uk/home.html

they both make and sell to theatre and film companies. Ive seen the stuff at screen face and its good.the hair is attached to latex backing so once blended to the skin is very real looking.

Thanks for the links Sakara. I never realised that fake beards were so expensive!

Sod it, the lazy git can just grow one. ;)

I can't believe that after all my digging I didn't manage to find one and you come along with your "in depth" knowledge and find two straight away!

    Now thats impressive!

Nobody has yet bid on those boots I was telling you about by the way. There is just over a day left! Fingers crossed.

Ah shipping from Singapore does take a while, but for that price its not abad bargain. I can make robes but in that material , if its right then your talking a bit of money.Id charge around £60 for basic heavy fabric...that may not be the right kind.As theres hell of lot of fabric in a jedi/sith robe.

that is discount lol...I wish i could charge less, but i dont make crappy robes..out of crappy fabric. It wouldnt ruin my credibility as a costumier if i went down that path....but i will start to look into the actual costs of making a robe...seeing as im making one for myself anyway.

Alot can be done with them from the photo, I could cover the design with the over design Anakin has...this of course would mean getting tough leather or good synthetic leather. also colour it to look a worn black/brown.
I cant do anything till at least a week from now but after that no problem.

It seems that you could be getting a bit of business from us Welsh posters Sakara. :)

Good to keep it in the family I say.

I will be in contact regarding those boots very soon.

Just in case anyone is intersted, I currently have the following costumes.

    Anakin (ep2)
    Neo (Reloaded)
    Indian Jones (never worn!)
    Spike
Many masks such as Subulba, Wotto, Jar Jar, 3PO etc.

But if we are going to play this game, I think it's safe to say that Sakara is going to win!

Now now Master_Sith, you should never drink and post. It's a dangerous game your playing. Someone could get hurt!

    ;)

So what costume were you thinking of making first?
