Yes, that's where I got the idea from. But expanding it beyond clone/storm troopers.

To keep on the theme of Imperial Garrison, why not start with the officer ranks? We could have an explanation of what the different rank bars mean, and the security pins. From what I've gathered, Grand Admirals don't tend to wear security pins, and sometimes make modifications to their uniform to personalize it.

I've fixed the frame on my Ewok, I had to build a whole new one. Now I just have to put him all back together.

I was down at Fabric land to day and the fun fur is on sale again but only to Sunday. If anyone wants to build some Ewoks for the group here's the deal.

You have to comment back by 6:00 PM today.

I'll go and get the fur for 2 Ewoks, wood, steal brackets and screws. (My contribution.)
Someone else needs to pick up a foam mattrice cover for the stuffing. ( a cheap one is about $29)
Someone else needs to pick up styrofoam for the heads and Gorilla glue. We need 2x 9" styrofoam blocks for the head. (in total $20-$30)
Someone else can make the home made clay for the feet, mouth & nose.

    I'm in. I'll get a mattress cover.

I'm liking the idea of making some Ewoks to go with the AT-ST, and hopefully to use on a float in the Santa Claus parade. In the back of mind I've been thinking of making a Logray type of head-dress with a skull, beads, feathers, etc.

I'd like to do the 2 elders. One with the bird skull head dress and the one with the wild bore's head. Then if there's enough scrap we could make an odd ball extra.

The Wicket photo isn't loading on here. I saw him on RL though and it looks amazing.

So when will we be able to work on these? I can probably pick up a mattress cover at Walmart tonight.

We'll start Sunday. I can post Saturday night if I can get in any earlier that 6:00 PM. It would be nice but it's still going to take 2 day at least to make them.

OK. I'll let you know how I make out with the mattress cover, and I'll see if I can find anything that looks promising for a head-dress.

I'm in. I'll see if I can get some styrofoam blocks and glue then, and see if I can find a recipe for the clay stuff.

Any suggestions on where to get the glue?

You can get Gorilla glue at Home Depot, Wal*Mart just about any where. A 4 oz bottle is about $10.

Do we need a sewing machine? I've got a couple I could bring.

Oh yes! These 2 Ewoks will take a lot of sewing. The bodies have vertical stripes and the arms are striped horisontal. This acually saves on fur.

Also to save time. If you got styrofoam sheets, cut them into 9" squares and stake them to 9". Then glue them so that it's a 9" cube. This way we can carve them on Sunday.

I picked up a Queen Size mattress pad at Walmart. Hopefully it'll be big enough for both ewoks.

That should be enough to even make a third Ewok.

I found a good image of Logray's staff online. I may try putting this together this week and bring on Sunday.

I'll probably sculpt them with Super Sculpey.
