Feldman's right, gauze would probably work really well - and it would dye just fine since it's cotton.

You could also just tear some thin strips of fabric and wrap them around your arms - hee hee - I do that for my Padmé costume. :D

As I mentioned on another thread ("Hello, I must be going . . .") I am moving.

I will check here later, traffic permitting.

One more question: I have a few cotton crew-neck t-shirts and a few patterns for kimonos and loose-fitting pants. Would I be sliced in half if I showed up at an event in an original costume? It's all I have time for, to put one together from things I find, make a pattern from!, or recieve. :)

All your projects (esp. the Scottish dress!) sound so interesting! Enjoy the cons!

sounds kinda like the makings for royalty or senatorial garb. original or not, it should work fine!

    Hey MonMartha,

Welcome to the group here. Costumes aren't required for anything in fan force, and we don't have anything coming up in the immediate future that is a costuming event. We are having a costuming party this sunday if you would like to try and put something together with the input of some of the team. Otherwise we're not rabid about details and encourage original ideas :)

I'm Void, the Regional Support guy and the President of the team. If there is anything we can do for you then let me or Sideshow, the Chapter Rep, know. Thanks.

Well, I just did the test dyeing on my Commando outfit. Now I'm waiting to make sure the Poncho material will hold the dye (those blasted synthetic materials  ).

Hope to have the tutorial up some time next week :D

EDIT: Dye Mission was a complete success :D Pictures available upon request

Hello, I'm from ZOO's neck of the woods :)
Darth Hair & I are making Snow Trooper costumes, we have to have them done by 4/25. Time is running out but we have the helments left to do.
DH is doing a Quinlan Vos costume, a Han Solo & of course a Sith.
I'm doing a Gladreil (LoTR) "mirror" dress, a Leia type endor costume & I hope I can get my Sith Witch costume done in time. Doesn't look like I will have it done in time since I don't even have my drawings done yet :(

SITH__CHICK: [face_shocked] You sound a lot like kreleia (working on multiple costumes at one time). [face_laugh] Why do you have to get the Snow Trooper costume done by 4/25? :)

BTW, since EP3 is in 2005, wouldn't C3 be in 2006? By July 2006, I'll be 18, so, NO MORE PARENTS SAYING NO TO ME GOING ANYWHERE!!!!! WOOHOO!!

Nope, C3 will be right before EPIII, just like C2 was right before EPII.

May, 2005 (unless, or course, there is some sort of change in plans)

Still, not bad. I'll be 17, and more self-dependent by then. I'd be able to drive there too, if it's in San Diego or California. Drive there in a 1966 Chevy Chevelle SS with a Turbocharged Chevy 350 V8, but, I shouldn't get my hopes up though.
