Buff, NY Costumes

I have a lead on the Cantina Band mask (one that won't break the bank).

I'm not going to worry about the hands right now, plus it'd be impossible to play guitar with those things on anyway.

What's a good way to build Hoth boots?

 

What do you mean by Hoth boots? Are they for Luke?

 

Yep - the Hoth boots would be for the Dagobah Luke

Alright, I'm down to needing stripes on my jump suit and a to luger pistol and I'm finished! The willy wonka goggles came in and I can't tell you how perfect the lenses are. You can see in a few pictures, Greedo had a reddish-purplish tint to his eyes that no one else on the 501st has. Not only did the lenses fit perfect, but the color is just about the same as Greedo's eyes! I dont want to post any pictures until I'm finished with everything and you can see the costume as a whole.......Man it took a long time, but I think it will be well worth the wait!

 

I can't wait to see it! Will it be ready for the event next week?

The pistol may be tough to find as a toy. Check ebay for a resin prop.

Here it is.....I still have to spray paint the hands, so they are not yet colored. Also I did not wear my vest because I re-ritted it to be a bit more orange than what it was.....but if you look at the suit, It is very close to the Greedo seen in the lighter blue suit. Also you have to see the eyes in person because they really make it work. The costume as a whole looks a lot better than these pictures...I'm not wearing the belt, the holster, the boots or the vest. Just wanted to give you an idea of the main section.....

just a heads up.. I know we talked about them on the thread a while ago -- The FFX Sabers are on sale for $79. I'll check to see what the end date is if you'd like... and if you come to me, I'll give you my discount.

 

Gloves came in for my pilot! Still waiting on straps and boots.

Also, I bought some fabric to spiff up my farmboy boots, hopefully make them a tad bit more accurate. We'll see how this goes...

 

Boots and chestbox kit came in today!

And thanks to Reaper I'll have a helmet to hold me over until I can get a Luke one! Yay!

Just need straps and flare holders now...

Hopefully I'll have the chance to work on it this week and I'll have something to show by next weekend.

 

Mindy and I found a small black speaker that I'm going to try out with Vader. It will only allow to be played as loud as the MP3 player will allow, but it's a step towards talking like Vader...
