I would think that it would be allright to wear inside the convention. However you should probably take a bag or something that you could put it in for going outsidE. I would also consider labeling "prop" on the bag just incase a cop stops you for whatever reason. That was advoce given to my video production mentor who did it the wrong way and got arrested. :) He went to work carrying an M-16 on his shoulder. Unfortunately for him his offfice building was renting out space in the same building as a bank so the cops and FBI showed up and stormed the building. :D Luckily (and unluckily) I missed it because I didnt go in that day to do any video editing.

Hey - let's get some costumes update going here.

I will hopefully have a new tunic set by the Swap'N'Shop (if not by the Starlight Parade).

Crashdown, you need acceptable Jedi boots. What size shoe do you wear?

JawaFett, you need the resin version of the Solo blaster accesssories? Here's a link! You could try to make the guy a "best offer" if you don't feel like throwing down the $50 for it.

I don't know how much this helps, but if everything is all black and you get the resin kit, I suggest washing and sanding the pieces, it until they are perfect (or close enough). Priming the resin with a spray primer and then either painted black with spray paint or automotive paint.

You need the boots as well, right?

I wonder if you could rig up a mock Solo holster with Belts... [face_thinking]

I ware size 9. Below is the photo of the boots I was telling you about....will this work? The only problem is that they are about $50 with shipping.

    Crash, those will definitely work.

FYI - I wear something like these:
    [image=http://www.grapevinehill.net/images/x/67047.jpg]

Also, you may want to look at ebay. I just searched for "brown boots 9 mens" and found some like mine. Look at these item numbers:
    7769428437
    7768687012
    7766986733

Let me know what your schedule is and maybe we can meet up for lunch or something. I have that belt for you along with a couple of other goodies for the belt.

I went ahead and ordered these boots, I hope to get them late next week.

Grumpydevil, I like yours better, but I'm a bit short on cash to get them. Also, everything used I found on ebay did not close for 5 to 6 days - it would not have given me a chance to get them by June 3 (the starlight parade). I plan to get my Jedi costume completed this weekend.

Yes, I would like to get together, maybe this weekend? I will PM you my phone number.

OK, so I got my boots yesterday....they look good. All I need now (not counting the cloak) is a belt.

Grumpy - I will post or PM you some photos soon so that you can make the determination if the costume is good for the Dark Side Troopers.

    Cheers.

Sorry, I didn't get your message until now. The rest of Monday is taken.
Could you PM me your phone number, or give me a call (I have already PM you my #'s) and we can figure out a time to meet/talk. I also have several more questions regarding this saturday.

Awesome outfit, Crash! Yours is quite the awesomefest as well, Grumpy. :D

If I was still down there, I'd finish up my dark jedi outfit and join in on the costume parties you guys have been enjoying! And since you're both with the DST and all, do you think you could ask around with the troopers and possibly get me some tips and such to making sand trooper armour? I used to have a couple sites bookmarked that covered the process, but I lost them and the instructions didn't flow very well. Been wanting to put a suit together for a year or two now and join up with the 501st or some such.

Where would I track down an episode III clone trooper helmet? (besides MR, heard too many horror stories about the helmet from them.)

I don't know if that worked but this is supposed to be a picture of my costume from the Fan Film I was in last year.

Ya, your image didn't show up. So I'm posting it again here:
    [image=http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/9475/img00313fu.jpg]

Really cool Aayla costume. I'm sure you will get a recruitment post from GrumpyDevil (Kyle), our local Dark Side Troopers Master[face_devil]

My wife also made a Aayla costume and has trooped with Dark Side Troopers to show it off. What do you use for your blue coloring? My wife has not had much luck with hers. She marched in the Starlight parade when it was raining and she looked like she was melting (but all washable paints would do that, Oh well). By following the link below you can see my wifes costume (and the bleeding of her blue paint). I'm the Jedi on the left.

    Just copy the link below:

I can't seem to get the image to show (probably same problem you had).

As far as the color goes it's kinda tricky.

If your using Ben Nye MagiColor or any of there water based Make-up line, you need to use the WaterProofer (it has another name but I can't remember it) first. I wipped it all over my skin lightly to stop the "sweating thru" that makes the make-up blochy. Then I mixed the MagiColor (cosmic Blue #ML-31, Royal Violet #ML-35, and Sunshine Yellow) with 10% Water proofer and air brushed it on. When that dries seal it with Final Seal in the spots you would sweat most i.e: Neck, under chin, armpit, ect. Just a light Final coat works great.

Since the color that they used in the movie is actually a Krylon # 512? or #502 you have to mix the Ben Nye to get the right color. It's really noticable when your in a picture or in bright light. The skin should actually have a slight purple ting to get the right blue hue.

I just ordered the Dl44 kit from Blast-Tech. Should arrive in 2wks. Cant wait. Then my brother-in-law can make me the holster since his hobby is making western holsters. Just need a resin droid caller and metal bracket to hold it, some other belt "tools" for the belt and I'll be a complete ANH Solo minus the Falcon, lol.

That's one of our members (from Dark Side Troopers), Rick. That was his first outing with the stilts. He was pretty damn tall.

Yeah, you lasted a few months before one of your fellow members went through the archive.... you Jedi, always scheming!!!

You are now on Imperial alert, Master Jedi! ;-)

Convenient of the master jedi to just show pics of the Rebel scum! ;-)
Those 12inch lifts of Rick's were pretty impressive. I didn't really appreciate just how tall he would be until I actually saw him.

But Kyle, come on, you are forgetting the most important costumer there....

*note the arduous task of keeping those "dirty troopers" in line!

And what should happen when I stop to talk to some potential newbie members???

Fortunately, those two managed to get out of an "entanglement". You will note that they are now under close supervision again...

The things I must endure in my service to the Empire.... and the Jedi are supposed to be the guardians of peace and justice in the galaxy. Ha! I scoff at thee! :-D
