You know, I had to laugh the more I thought about SpaceBalls. SOmething about Mel Brooks saying "Everybody loves Yogurt" and the whole "Goto Ludicrous Speed" followed by "They've gone Plaid." Almost as funny as History of the WOrld Part I.

I think my favorite scene in Spaceballs was = "How many *******s do we have on this ship?" and he alien popping out of the guy's stomach to do a song and dance number!

My favorite part would have to be when Pizza the Hut ate himself to death. So... funny... :p

Well, i modified the leia slave skirt again. it is pretty much finished...im going to try to make another one ( a better one) eventually....I am just ready to move on to greener pastures, and i have decided to go thrift shopping sometime this week to try to find some "Han" style clothing ! ;)
Oi yea! For the Leia Slave! i made the necklace last night, the side pieces, and one of the hair pieces (now if only i could get all my long hair back :) ) That is about all the news i have for the world of costume drama!

I have also been inspired to start work on a costume. A bit of a stretch, but it will be Dark Helmet in his desert garb. It should be very easy except for the helmet. Anyone have any ideas on how I can stsrt this. Also would like ideas for the other costume of his as well.

    Hey Zam,

It might be a little late for this version, but have you considered using Sintra? It's a PVC that is moldable @100 C (boiling water) and vacuformable at 125 C (~250 F). It isn't expensive either (~$25 for a 4'x8' sheet). I'll bring some of my scrap to the next meeting. I've been making armor out of it. It is also known as Fun Plastic. I can't attest to the Vacuforming properties personally, but the boiling water works great.

Ok, Im not quite ready for the photo yet......i am going to go ahead and post the "now" costume later on, i have to have brian help me put the pic up, so that is why it is taking so long. But this costume is what I will consider "Version 1.0 " It is not the best looking slave costume out there, but I am proud of it, since it looks somewhat recognizable, and it is the FIRST costume I have ever made in my life (actually the first "wearable" item period). :)
My next project I have been working on is a tweaked version of Han Solo. I found some knee high boots at Unique thrift store, and a suitable white top and a black vest that looks **perfect**... also, i got a sewing machine yesterday, so I will be able to work on better projects in the future! Wish me luck everyone, and I will post the pic later on tonight or tomorrow!
