What do you think? I'm reworking a few pieces right now, some of the rivets were too long, whoops

Hello, I'm from Lansing, and am unsure as to where exactly I belong. I'm at least an hour away from all 3 Michigan FanForce Legions (Detroit, Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids). Anyhoo, the reason that I'm posting this is to say that I'm planning on a Chiss costume for C3. I've included a link to my Yahoo Photo Album. You can find drawings of the ideas I've had there. As a note before you go praising my art skills... Those are not drawn by me. My friend in Australia drew those.

    The Link: http://photos.yahoo.com/material_boi2000/

Tell me what you think and all...

    ~Dave

P.S. I'll be doing realistic Chiss makeup (including the red eyes!) too...

has anyone ever made a cyborg arm? I'm looking for some ideas on how to start. I was thinking about useing a forearm bracer and add stuff to it to get that mechanical look, what do you think.

you could just use existing medieval armour..just buy the arm piece(rather expensive..but you might find a good deal on ebay) and just add tings like wires...and other little doodads to dress it up like electronical stuff.

I've been working on Padme's really light blue dress from Tatooine in EpII, the one with the cape and the hood. Last night I finished hemming the cape, and I have the wrap top sewn together, too. It's going pretty well, it's just slow-going because I don't have a sewing machine so I'm stitching it all by hand. On the other hand, hand-stitching is kinda fun, and is easier to take all over campus to work on.

I'd take pictures, but I can't find my camera cable right now. Maybe I can borrow someone's camera soon.

Hand stitching??? wow that's got to take forever!
I did some stitching on some leather pouches for my jedi costume that was hard enough. can't wait to see some pics though.

Whee, I've been accepted into the Rebel Legion with my Jedi costume. :D Unfortunately, the fact that it's kinda unique renders it as informal, but I like the story that goes with it, so I'm keeping it. Besides, my Amidala will be formal, because I'm being super-careful with this one.

Costume progress slowed due to tendonitis, but maybe I'll hop back at it soon. And maybe I can borrow Lauren's camera to take some pictures.

    Here's my profile page, w00.

Yeah, that was kinda the original idea. Now to have more time to work on my Amidala... spring break is coming, and I will have access to a sewing machine! That'll make it go like, 3 million times faster. Maybe I'll even get all the sewing done while I'm home.

    Well,

The EP III Clone trooper armor molds are done... This weekend we are going to start pulling the first full sets. I will post pictures once I get them. It looks like they will turn out just fine!!! ;-)

We are going to try and get a good hand full of EP III troopers for the Grand Rapids ROTS Release event.
