Could a person possibly be any more wrong about Wedge Antilles?

Am I the only one sick of people ragging on Zahn and MAS?

No, my friend, you are not. I am also sick of this... The two are great writers.
They are ragged on because they focus much of their energies on their own characters. Characters that they worked and put some effort into. They added to the Star Wars Universe by putting other interesting people in it; after all, you cant have a universe of the big three and no other.

 

So, THAT'S what sour grapes sound like.

This guy sound so much like that one Krennel pilot whose sole claim to fame was being a part of the 181st for a short time when he made the claim that Wedge, Wes, etc were clones created by the Allaince everytime the Rogue's got chewed up in Isard's Revenge.

I think the coolest thing about Star Wars it that it's the perfect environment to create OCs in... it's a big galaxy out there, and so many stories waiting to be told. Granted, most OCs have had their stories entertwined with better known characters, but there are so many others who probably will never meet Han or train under Luke... and I, for one, would LOVE to read about them.

 

I agree--focusing too much on other people's characters means either developing them in ways that half your audience will consider "untrue" to the originals, or else repeating the same cliches and facing the same crises over and over. The one makes fans take up pitchforks, the other puts them to sleep. Personally, I would find taking on someone else's universe a lot easier than someone else's characters.
But then, I think Zahn is awesome, so I'm not terribly unbiased.

 

Was Piett the officer who was reporting to Vader about the missing Pod with R2D2 and C3PO? he looked ready to make a run to the men's room.[face_laughing].

The guy is just envious 'cuz Wedge is a better pilot than him.And he's not even a Jedi.Wedge Antilles rocks!!!And He's also cute.

R_W: Go to the Wes Janson Fan Club. Perhaps 'cult' is too strong a word. But we're certainly nutty enough to qualify.

And like Rogue Squadron being primarily an X-wing unit, but flexible enough to use other fighters, we're primarily Wes fans there, but by and large we all love dem pilots.

I just found it ironic that if he thinks a misspelling of names on the SW credits has anything to do wih a character, he should pay more attention to spelling Wraith Squadron. Obviously, he doesn't find that an important point.

Anyway, those points can all be proved wrong, if you have some knowledge of Star Wars...
