But you will notice that after Padme says "How long is it going to take for us to be honest with each other?" Anakin is honest with her. Again, just because the falling in love scenes are not ideally written it does not mean they didn't love each other, I think. As somebody else said earlier in this thread Anakin's obsession meant that his original goal of saving Padme got lost in a lust for power. But I don't think that means they didn't love each other before Anakin's fall. Plenty of people can be obsessive at times in their life and even dishonest. It doesn't mean they all turn to the darkside so to speak.
