i think it was pure luck and chance that he survived. he probably passed out due to the pain when he caught on fire, but most of his wounds were cauterized already.

 

Being strong in the Force is the only thing that kept him alive, but even then, just barely. He wouldn't have lasted much longer. He couldn't breathe on his own, and it doesn't matter how powerful a Force User is, they still have to breathe.

 

Let's just be honest Darth Vader in that legendary suit was sexy as hell, why would you want Darth Vader any other way !

 

It's definitely been discussed that the suit actually benefited the Emperor. It put Vader on a leash. The Emperor knew how powerful Vader could become. I'm sure that the Emperor had much better resources at his disposal. The suit created an image of fear. Vader didn't have to do much for people to fear him, he just had to walk in the room.

 

And the ladies would swoon due to his sheer masculinity and the greatest voice a bad guy could have!

 

It's true. Vader really does have the greatest voice. Hopefully we'll see more of him in the new Rogue One movie!

 

Vader has the greatest everything. The guy was a super pimp, just look at his Star Destroyer and Tie Fighter. Han Solo was the coolest cat in the universe but Vader was the uber boss to all big time bads.
