ST Could Disney give audiences a homosexual couple in the sequel trilogy?

Chances are, over night you may have noticed the internet(mainly social media sites and news sites) all up in a buzz over Finn and Poe's somewhat "flirtatious" relationship. I, myself didn't think anything of it as I was watching the film, but after seeing what others have been saying on the subject, I have to admit. It kind of got me thinking. They chemistry is definitely there if Disney wants to roll with it. I mean, Finn is already wearing Poe's jacket. What many people see as a classic boyfriend move.

Plus, It honestly wouldn't surprise me that much. Disney is known for taking chances. After all, we just got our first official homosexual female character, moff Mors not to long ago in the book, Lords of the Sith. So, what are your thoughts?

Judging by the effect he has on women in TFA, I'd say a Chewie porn movie is more likely.

Totally for it (hell, this isn't 1950) but I still think that Disney could push the boundaries further and do the obvious and I mean OBVIOUS droid-human angle, building up on Oscar's Ex-machina persona with a BB-8/Poe romance.

 

lol Finn has a better chance with Poe than with Rey.

 

Why do people try to make heterosexual characters gay?
I don't care if they is a homosexual couple in this or any other movie. Fine, perfect.
But fans making gay some character who clearly is into the other sex....
WHY?

 

Were either Finn or Poe confirmed straight though? I know they hint at Finn possibly having feelings for Rey in the movie, but as far as I know, that's all we get to see of his orientation. I'm mainly asking this because I haven't read any of the new novels so I wouldn't know if there's something else confirming they're straight that I didn't know about.

 

Just curious why you assume both characters are heterosexual, and secondly, why 'being into the other sex' doesnt also mean they cant be attracted to men without being 'made gay'.

Its 2015 - so some people need to wake up - sexuality is a spectrum for most people now, and things arent 'black and white' or 'heterosexual or homosexual' anymore.

 

I think the true story is that Luke escaped to his hide-out from his violent husband Ben Solo who had an illegitimate relationship with Snoke resulting in having an illegitimate son called Poe.

R2D2 & C3PO might have been the marriage witness. Who knows.

 

Disney did go out of their way to cast a diverse movie, but I don't think they'll be making the main romance a homosexual one. Why? A diverse cast appeals to an international market. A homosexual relationship cuts down on that market dramatically.

 

I think Finn's feelings for Rey are a red herring, because its Star Wars. They're obviously siblings.

This makes for the most awkward love triangle since Han-Leia-Luke.

 

Or, and I know I am not necessary known for being correct at times, it could have been a joke those two were playing.

 

Because Finn doesn't show any sexual attraction to any man in the movie?
People disrespecting homosexual men or women are f... idiotsss but people who make homosexual the others just because yes....are....well....you know.

There have been gay couples in Disney films forever. They just never flat out spelled it out. It's for the same reason they don't advertise/market the annual Gay Days at Disneyland/World. Everyone knows it is, they know it is, but they won't say it because, well, the Mayberry folk and global Times Square touristy crowd going on vacation and trips only to do the exact same thing they would have done back home, eating the exact same foods at their TGIFridays, and taking the exact same photos billions have already taken for no other reason but to diminish the actually photographed article/artifact as kitchy decoration for their insecure attempts at showing off how awesome and original they are.

Also, Star Wars has had gay couples since Day 1. Pretty sure that there's some definite sexual tension between Hux and Kylo Ren.

 

Human sexuality has always been on a spectrum.

The only thing that's changed radically are the labels and the socio-political definitions.

 

Umm, there was no chemistry at all between Finn and Rey, so yeah I'd say for now his chances of getting together with Poe are higher.

Rey is the new Luke! She won't have a romantic interest in this trilogy.

 

This is all so subjective, because I saw a lot of chemistry between Rey and Finn.

 

Er, Luke had a "romantic interest" in ANH and ESB but the least said about it the better!
