Re: "Tragedy Porn"-- that basically sums up exactly the mentality that's kept a comic-book like Spider-Man down in the gutter for the better part of 20 years. When in doubt, throw another wrench into Peter Parker's life. I miss the days when comics could be fun, as well as dark-- and I'm pretty sure Alan Moore does, too.

As for the Naboo occupation-- fair point, but I always liked the idea that it was never resolved. For all we know, it really could all just be for show to lure them back to the planet. I do wish that we had some confirmation one way or the other, though, just to nip stuff like this in the bud.

 

Great way to make it maybe not necessarily darker, but probably better is to add a lot more of the deleted scenes of Maul and take out some of Jar Jar scenes.

TPM Director's Cut:
= longer Maul screen appearance and add elements that would make him a bit 3-dimensional
= LESS or if possible no Jar Jar or Gungans at all!

 

Star Wars is the way it is, folks. If you don't like it, take your imagination and create something from scratch and make it as dark as you want it. Then hope for an audience.

If Lucas catered to each and every could of/would of/should of from most fans, the Saga would never be made. It's much easier to just be happy with what he made. If that's impossible, then you are probably wasting your time watching it. You're certainly wasting your time complaining about it.

I think the haters need to learn a dose or two of respect. Or better still, go and watch something that pleases them and discuss that instead.

 

Seriously? You haven't said a single respectful thing in any of your, "posts," since I first saw you. I mean, yeah I'm known to be pretty blunt and unforgiving in my opinions (gotten banned a few times in some forums), but I don't pretend to be on some high horse demanding respect all the while behaving like an absolute child whenever I encounter opposition to my views.
