Yeah, Sidious versus the Droid General would've been a joke.

Regardless of whether Grievous could, or knew how to, block force lightning with this lightsaber, Palpatine would still be victorious. We see Obi-Wan disarm Grievous of his lightsabers in a matter of mere moments. There is no reason that Palpatine could not do the same, and then fry Grievous with force lightning. Bottom line, Grievous would have not chance of survival.

He has no chance, he is not even a force user.

I agree Grievous may be talented and quick with a saber, but lets not forget that he learned how to fight from Dooku. Dooku is palpataines apprentice for what? like 10 years before he's thrown away carelessly for Anakin.

Grievous can't use the force, and against a powerful fully driven sith lord he doesn't stand a chance. It's one thing to be good at swordplay, another to be fluent in it.

Nothing was shown or mentioned in the eu. So as far as we know, he may or may not have know about it. Much less if there is a defense for it.

Please, Grievous isn't a Jedi or sith, just some freak barely alive stuck in a machine, instructed in rudimentary lightsaber methods, with lots of mechanical arms swirling around. Which are the only things that makes him dangerous at all. And Obi-Wan handled him quite easily even with all those lightsabers being spun by the machine he's in. hehe :)

That would be a cool battle, but one that Sidious would win. He killed three Jedi Masters without even trying. A single non-force using cyborg would be no problem, even one that's trained in lightsaber combat.

Here's a quick way to end this "debate": When do we see Grievous and Sidious together? Never physically, but once with Grievous and Sidious' hologram. What does Grievous do? Bows, takes an order, and immediately obeys it. End Thread.

Well said Master DooDoo. It comes down to the point where Sidious is the master, even to someone who does not belong to the Sith Order.

Saying Grievous could take on Palpatine is saying that Superman could take on Chuck Norris. it can't be done.

Chuck Norris would BEAT Superman's ass.:p
All that was missing was for Sidious to tell GG: "Now go get me a burger and fries, you maggot."

    Seriously.:

Palpatine was able to take out 3 of the "best" swordsmen in the Jedi Order in 10 seconds. Grievous is just some Cyborg that can split his arms and spin fast. how do you think he would fare against a master sith? I mean, Palpatine would have already sliced him to pieces before he would even have time to set his hand on a lightsaber.

I doubt Sidious would even get up from his chair if GG came running at him.
One wave of the hand = fight over.

No, Grievous would be dead even before he even got in the room.

Grievous is just a Computerized Droid Cyborg. no force capabilities.

Grievous doesn't have a snowflake's chance in the volcanoes of Mustafar of succeeding in a fight against Sidious himself.

I mean, it's SIDIOUS we are talking about here, not Sha'a Gi. he's a master sith.

I love GG. But sidious could just kill him with lightning very easily.

It would be a cool fight, but it would also be a blink-and-you'll-miss-it-fight. Sidious would completely unload on Grevious.
