Could the Confederacy have really won?

    Finally, I have come back to the forums....watching the episodes all over again on SpikeTV and just bought "Something...." from Family Guy...Everytime I watch I come up with new questions....The first one is

    Could the Confederacy had a legitimate shot at winning the war if Chancellor/Darth Palpatine/Sidious not been on both sides? Just delete Sidious from the equation and Count Dooku is the true leader of the Confederacy.
