St. Lou, MO Council/CR Elections

    Elections:

    After some discussion the council decided to handle council/CR elections a little differently this year and subsequent years. Here is how it will work. A council of 5 members will be voted for at the beginning of the year. After those five members have been chosen there will be a second vote for CR to be selected from the five council members. The entire St. Louis FanForce votes for the council and the CR afterward.

    Who is eligible for Council:
    • You must be 18 years of age to be either CR or council. (CR is as per FF rules, council we decided).

    • Must reside in the St. Louis area (FanForce rules for CR).

    • You must have at least 50 posts to the boards as a whole, most of which are on StLFF (for small amounts).

    • CR must make at least 6 meetings or social events a year. (Social event would be a beer meeting, or board announced get together with more than 4 total official members.) This can be slightly waived at this point, but CR must have been to several meetings in the past and make more in the future. Not going to meetings is grounds for dismissal (see later).

    • Council must make at least 3 meetings a year or 1/4 the total amount of meetings. Again, this can be waived to a point.



    Nominations:
    • Please use this thread to nominate potential council members or PM them to me if you want to remain relatively anonymous.

    • Self nominations are perfectly fine.

    • If someone who is nominated does not wish to be considered for council either post in the thread or PM me. Make sure it is clear that you are declining the nomination.


    Chapter Rep:
    • Elections for chapter rep will be held after the elections for council have completed and everyone has accepted the position.

    • There may be a one to two week lag between the Council and CR elections to make sure everyone is on the same page and there are no problems.

    • If any council member does not wish to be considered for CR s/he may say so at this time. That person then is not on the CR "Ballot".

    • CR must attend at least 1/2 of the yearly meetings.


    Duties of CR and the Council
    • Must register and participate in Council discussions at the council boards.

    • Organize and plan meetings. They will gather the info and make the arrangements for the meetings (i.e. call places, get times set up etc). This doesn't mean everyone can't suggest places and volunteer to help with stuff. That is the job of every member. But CR and council will make sure all the details are taken care of.

    • CR and council will make the rules of the boards together and the CR will enforce them. Enforcing them means letting the RSA know if there is a problem that needs a ban or edit, and being in contact with an RSA on such issues.

    • CR and council members will swap writing the scrolling banner and writing the information for the main page each month. The person responsible each month will get the scroll bar submitted as soon as meeting/new is announced and decided. The main page info will be submitted within a week to 4 days before the meeting

    • CR will make all announcements from the council decisions. S/He will also act as a "president" of the club and council. The council is like the "senate." Both CR and Council has veto power over the decisions of the other. CR is actually a member of council, but in the event of a tie the CR is the tie breaker.

    • CR and council are required to address any concerns the club has in a timely manner.

    • There will be other duties to be decided and divided up after the new council is formed. People will have more set jobs now though.



    Voting
    • Nominations will begin now and continue until 1/16/06 (?). All nominations must be rejected or accepted by 1/17/06.

    • VOTING BEGINS 1/18/06 and ENDS 1/25/06. Early and late votes are not acc

    I'm hoping that someone else will throw in names of other people so they can also run. We have quite a few who are active on the boards and come to meetings who I'd like to see nominated, such as John, Leash, Danielle...

    Also, I wanted to ask if we could bend the rules for Laura. She obviously wouldn't qualify for CR because she's not living here now, but she's just as active on the boards and she can make it to at least 3 meetings a year.

    So, I'm leaving it to the rest of you to nominate the others who should be considered for council. Peace out!:D
