Count Dooku versus Darth Maul,who will win?

So who do you think will win,if Count Dooku will fight against Darth Maul?
I bet on Count Dooku.

he actually knows how to use a sword.

Twirling and acrobatics looks great, and would be perfect for the circus, but in a real fight with weapons, is useless.

Dooku loses due to having a weakness (makashi's weakness) to kinetic strength based attacks, and Darth Maul has superior physical strength (juyo can produce a good amount of kinetic energy) over Count Dooku. Pretty sure that Darth Maul's Sith training would allow to detect this weakness of the former Jedi Master.

If not for that weakness, Dooku is slightly more skilled in terms of dueling though.

Sorry but, you're calling on people like Sidious or Yoda's styles are useless ? That's nonsense. They are just using the element of speed to gain advantage in the duel.

 

Hard to say, they're complete opposites. Different training, styles, etc, etc.

Though if I had to pick, I'd say Dooku. He's older, more experienced, and patient.

 

Tyranus, because he is a match for Yoda. Good lord, Maul was killed by Obi wan, one of the worst jedi ever.

That's tough logic to beat. With that my vote goes to Dooku. (Thou I think Obi-Wan was a great Jedi, but you're right - he's not the best fighter. But he does manage to pull out a good win against the odds)

Over time Maul probably would have been more powerful than Dooku, but he wasn't there in Episode 1.

 

Dooku. He was up there with Yoda and Mace Windu among the best duelists in the whole Jedi Order, and had tons of experience.

Darth Maul killed Qui-Gon and was killed in turn by young Obi Wan, who was still a padawan at that point. Count Dooku kicked both older Obi-Wan and his padawan Anakin's asses, and in his final fight against them managed to beat Obi-Wan again before being defeated by Anakin.

Maul only gets cut in half because of his guard was off, and he wasn't expecting a lightsaber attack. Claiming that Dooku would win because of that PIS moment is ridiculous to be honest. Maul already defeated Kenobi's master, later Maul beats him as well while Kenobi was using force rage.


And also Dooku was no where near of being a challenge to Yoda, Yoda was holding back due to Dooku was his former padawan and still Dooku was losing it. He manage to escape from Yoda with using Obi-Wan and Anakin as a bait.

If one wants a duel against Yoda level opponent, then here it is.

There isn't any need to fix actually, I meant ''force rage'', it is something gives that to force users a temporary greater power. Kenobi was using force rage because he saw Qui-Gon's death.

It's extremely hard to choose between them actually, but in the end I think Maul would win. Dooku couldn't withstand Anakin's barrage of strikes in ROTS, and Maul's style is quite similar to that.

 

Dooku defeated ObiWan twice, while he was with Anakinl

 

obviously dooku. even though he's physically older his force powers are much stronger.

 

In the newcanon comic Son of Dathomir - Maul is portrayed as being on Dooku's level, as I recall.

 

I would have to give the Victory to Maul.... Dooku's downfall would be he wasn't a pure Sith. His time spent as a Jedi render him inferior. Whereas Maul is pure Sith, which instantly makes him a superior being. On a lucky day, Dooku just might be able to Maul. 9 times outta 10 I think Maul wins.
One last thing... Dooku was defeated whilst being double teamed by the Jedi. And Maul was able to defeat the double teaming of both Qui Gon and Obi Wan.
At least Maul vs Dooku would be a fair fight between 2 uncowardly warriors.

What I have seen is that Dooku has much greater powers,when is about Force ability.
His telekinesis and force push are at least on par with Sidious and maybe even reaching Master Yoda .
However,his Force lightning is not that strong as Sidious Force lightning.
In a pure duel,without using Force abilities,I am not sure how much Dooku will be better than Maul.
And Dooku has a major problem,because he is too lacked of hatred and anger.
So he must rely a lot on his light side abilities.
Dooku lacks the needed egotism and self love,to be an uber Sith Lord.
Now Maul has a lot of stamina and a great physical strength.
And Maul is full of hatred and anger.
If you watch the duel between Anakin and Dooku,where Dooku is loosing,
Anakin only have more physical strength and stamina,than Dooku,this is why he wins.
And Anakin has anger,Anakin have lots of hatred against Dooku,which Anakin finally uses.
I guess Dooku do not have enough stamina to use more force pushes and telekenesis,
to overcome Anakin.
So when I said Dooku would win against Maul,I supposed Dooku will use lots of Force abilities,
to overcome Maul.

 

Another note,Obi Wan is neither pure light sider,he actually uses the Dark side when he beats Maul.
He is filled with anger and hatred,because of the loss of his dear Master,
Qui Gon.
This permits Obi Wan to do that imba leap,grab the sword and cut Maul in half,all at very high speed.

 

This isn't a video game, there is no 'Force rage'. Obi-Wan was simply enraged. And that rage may have given him the edge temporarily but made him blind to everything else around him, which Maul used to his advantage.

If a Jedi sneezes, do you call it 'Force sneeze'? It's just ridiculous nomenclature when nothing extraordinary happened.
