barnsthefatjedi- It is looking for and needs jos.wad, which needs to be in your sierra\Half-Life\cstrike directory.

    *FILE REMOVED*

As soon as you've downloaded it, tell me and I will take it down.

Tell me if it works out. I'm removing the file now, but I'll send to you whatever else you need.

You can always fix your CS install by reinstalling the full verison. You'll lose your settings, but at least you'll have all of the files :)

I've got the retail version which I hear is pretty terrible so I don't know whether or not that is why I didn't have the file ?[face_plain]

Yeah, the retail version is pretty terrible indeed. Actually, I don't think the retail version even feature de_nuke :\

If you *really* start getting in CS, and you really want to know lots more, I suggest buying the "Game of the Year Edition" of Half-Life, downloading CS, and playing that way.

That, and you can enjoy lots of other mods.

Or, you can goto www.nextwish.org and he has a few downloads that will let you convert the retail version to the mod/real version :)

"That, and you can enjoy lots of other mods.
    "

Actually, you can play other mods using the Retail version of CS. You just need to adjust where you install them to.

Yes I know, but that in itself is a pain for certain people.

Yeah, I've got 'Firearms' and 'Wanted' installed but they never work because (I can't remember exactly what it says) my client dfsl (or something like that) differs from the servers.

    Any help?

PreacherBoy, do you have a copy of cs_estate I could download? I got the ONLY version that Zeroping has, but on almost every server is says my version differs from the one on the server.

If you have it, I'd truly be grateful :D.

Goto www.nextwish.org and download the mappack to change the retail version to the mod version.

    I think that'll work.

I take it you guys have all heard about the newest Half-Life singleplayer game:

    Half-Life: Blueshift

It looks really cool. You've played a scientist in H-L, a marine in OP and now you play a security guard! Cool or what?! I must buy this.

I am a cmplete Noob at CS, having played now for a total of two hours (placing me generally halfway up the rankings)

So what tips can the professionals give me? How do I up the kills and reduce the dying? What weapins are good and which are pointless. What sorta grenades should I use? Are flak jackets worth it? What's the point of crouching? What's th best weapon for sniping?

    Questions, questions...

I'm by no means an expert, but I know a few tricks:

    1)Aim for the head
2)Ak-47 for Terrorist and M4a1 for Counter-Terrorists are best weapons (generally speaking)
3)BURST FIRE!!!!! Absolutely essential. Accuracy is critical in CS, so try to keep your crosshair as small as possible.
    4)Kevlar Vests are worth buying
5)Ducking makes you less visible and a smaller target.
6)LOOK ALL AROUND BEFORE CHARGING IN. Otherwise you are sniper fodder.
    7)All of above
    8)None of above
    9)Do you really give a ***t anyway?? (I wonder how many ppl know where 7, 8 & 9 are from ;))

I don't really use grenades or sniper rifles [face_plain]
