Nice work Courtney! Welcome to the FanArt Forum. I like all of your drawings, especially the one of General Grievous. I know how hard it is to draw him. I drew him once and it was a major pain in the butt.

It is difficult to get his eyes & his "ear fins" to be in proportion to the rest of his face.
I am pretty good at just looking at a picture & copying it exactly. But I have been doing that for so long that I have forgotten my own style, I am trying to find that again.

I have added another picture, it is Clone Wars Anakin except I have made him a bit less animated:

Thank you all for your comments, they are much appreciated! Does any one know how to colour these in on the computer?

EDIT: Man, I was such a noob.

    Welcome Courtney :D

I like your illustrations, you show a great deal of promise. Creatures are notoriously difficult to draw, but it seems you've got that down pat already!

I do all the coloring of my illustrations in the computer (I hand-draw everything then scan them in). Photoshop is my tool of choice -- there's a not-too-complicated way to color them in while keeping the linework intact.

Thank you, I find creatures easier to draw than anything else. Unfortunatly school started today so the pictures may be uploaded less frequently.

But this is a clone trooper (I love them) that I drew today:

This thread has been a little quiet lately, but I present to you...Anakin:
    [image=http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b175/DarthCourtney/81b90bc5.jpg]
I have been looking at Grant Gould's art lately & I have been inspired. I like to think that it is not an exact copy of his work but a style of my own. I might add something to it later colour, shading or something.

Very nice-- the Grievous pic has a rather interesting angle, and this last one with Anakin is very expressive. You really seem to have a good handle on proportion-- which, I know, is not always as easy as it looks!

I do have trouble with getting things into proportion, I will draw the face well but then the body doesn't quite match.
    -----
I have been colouring in the Anakin picture, but coloured pencils just aren't doing the job. Could some one possibly colour & shade it in photoshop? I would really appreciate it. He is supposed to be in the halls of the jedi temple at sunset, you know when Obi-Wan is talking to him about the decisions of the council to make him a "spy".

[face_laugh] Somehow it's very funny, I just can't imagine Grevious with a hat, esp a green one.... :p
=D= But he looks very good, nice pose.

Hi -Courtney- and let me add my considerably belated welcome to our forum! I wanted to drop in and comment before I went out of town a while ago, but just didn't have time--anyway, I'm here now! :D

I really like your work--it's apparent that you're working hard on your skills and trying a lot of different styles of drawing (something that I myself haven't done--ie., the "different styles..."). Good for you! Of the pieces you've posted so far, I find I'm really drawn to your animals--they have a wonderful flow to their lines that's very "organic," and lends a nice feel to each piece. The wings on the LOTR fell beast and the dragon are especially beautiful--lovely sweep and span. And the elephant-like creature is great too--he has a lovely "weight" to him that really emphasizes size and bulk. The portraits are good, though I do see your own observation about the heads being a little out of proportion with the bodies (something I'm still struggling with as I begin to tackle more figure-type drawing)--I could offer some good general figure-drawing references if you'd be interested. The most recent portrait of Anakin is very good--it looks a lot like him, particularly the expression on his face. And I also agree with everyone that the clone trooper is just wonderful--the pose, proportions and energy in that one are great! If you're interested in learning Photoshop from artists here that use it, there's a reference thread here in the forum you can check out--look under the "Tools and Techniques" thread at the top of the page, you'll find it there. And the St. Patrick's Day Grievous is great! Who knew Grievous would be into shamrocks and lime-green lightsabers? LOL! You have a great gallery going so far, and we're glad you're sharing your work with us here--again, welcome!

    FF
