    Bruce Springsteen Fire:

    Covered by The Pointer Sisters.

It is the better version though IMHO.

I didn't know this was a Lou Reed tune for many years, but I like this version way better.

I thought this about a ton of songs when I was a kid up to about my mid teens. Then I started to become more aware.

Even though the Kingsmen's version is most well-known:

But the definitive cover of Fire is by Elmer Fudd.

The Boss also wrote and recorded Manford Mann's hit Blinded by the Light.

Thanks Shane. My post was indeed serious and warranted this follow up from you which Juliet - who likes Nickelback - "liked" for you.

I thought "All Along The Watchtower" was Hendrix's too. I was so surprised when I found out it's a Dylan cover! Still prefer the Hendrix version though.

And I always thought this was a 10,000 Maniacs song:

^ I thought that was another Bruce Springsteen original. His version is my favorite.

He wrote it, but I think this is technically the original recording. Love his version too, although I must admit the 10,000 Maniacs version is my favorite for nostalgic reasons!

And I don't want to drag the thread too far off-topic but I have to ask: Are you a Springsteen fan? I am, and I'm assuming you are from your comments in this thread. :D

Apparently, George Michael wasn't the original performer of "Somebody to love".

Makes sense, I could never wonder why he had a different band for it.
