ST Creatures/Monsters of EP 8 and 9 Discussion

Another reason for a sea serpent type creature. Instead of a serpent in a tree, it'll be a serpent in the sea.

 

Forget about monster moment, what about Monster Magnet in EpVIII? It could work.

 

What about Kylo Ren? Rey specifically says, "You're a monster!" So assuming he shows up in Ep8, that's the "monster moment," isn't it?

(okay, okay, fine... that doesn't count, I know.)

I hope the dianoga comes back. In fact, I'd be totally fine if the name of the movie is an homage to ever-popular "Jaws: The Revenge"... "Dianoga: The Revenge."

 

Sure! Though there's an ancient tree on Ahch-to, so why not put a serpent in it? Too on the nose?

 

Nah, not too on the nose for me, I'd be happy with this. Maybe needs to be a little more 'Star Warsy' than the python that pops up in the cave on Dagobah, though.

 

I couldn't agree more. One of my only gripes with ESB is that there seems to be a snake in every other shot on Dagobah. Takes me right out of the film. All I can think of during those scenes is the set dresser telling the animal wrangler: "More snakes! Lots of snakes!"

But yeah. I'd love to see a serpentine alien, of some kind, be associated with the tree on Ahch-to. Perhaps there is a forbidden knowledge associated with the First Jedi Temple? Something unsavory and ugly about the Jedi's origins?

Perhaps a similar something that affected Ben Solo during his travels with Luke, and that helped lead to his descent into darkness, and the creation of the Knights of Ren.

And maybe, it's a serpent called Ren...

 

I kind of like the rumor that Rey is Ben's thought to be dead sister and is revealed to him by Maz. He goes of the deep end and rogue from the first order.

 

Snoke=Snake.

I hope that they will have some new creatures in episode 8 and 9. The many types of life-forms is one of the reasons why Star Wars is interesting.

 

Luke will have a pet creature on the island. You can see my take on that in my avatar and in the Fan Art forum.

I am worried about Chewie though. Will Chewie become Rey's sidekick now?

 

probably, or if she's busy with luke, chewie and finn are bros now.

 

JawaDog: I hope that they won't reduce his role to be just that because that would just be annoying. Chewbacca was a side-kick to Han but that doesn't mean that he is just like a parenthesis, so to speak. Remember that Chewie was important when it came to freeing Han and also when it came to fighting the empire at the wooden planet in episode 6.

 

Oh I agree. He's my favorite character and I am worried his role gets reduced or even worse he gets killed by Kylo trying to avenge Han. I think it's a great opportunity to expand his role now that Han is gone. He can sort of be his own man.

 

He sort of proved that when he got his **** together and went back for the Falcon so he can save Finn and Rey.

Yeah, I can see the monster of Episode VIII being located on Ahch-To, guarding the first Jedi Temple. Maybe Rey has to tame it with the Force, in order to get passage inside the temple.

 

Maybe Kylo Ren is an Animorph and he transforms into a real monster.
