    Hi fellow fans!

I am a film student from Germany and I just started working on a Star Wars Fan Film. I was thinking of crowdfunding possibilites to finance the shooting. But im not sure how legal issues are on this. Especially when characters from the films are involved. I searched the web for crowdfunded SW projects and didn't find anything (except the "building the death star" one).
So i wanted to ask you to share your views, thought & knowlegde on this :) Should I try it? Or is it too risky?

There have been other fan films that used crowdfunding and it worked out apparently.

Thank you very much for your help!

I'm not sure but I think I've seen fanfilms that had donation pages on their websites.

The rule with SW fan films is that you cannot make a profit on them so I guess you can crowd-fund as long as the money is spend on the film.

The Return of Pink Five was partially crowdfunded and I.M.P.S. recently held an Crowdfunding campaign.
Altough these productions are both more comedy's and might fall in the "Spoof" category.
